I usually have at least two projects under active construction and one in planning process. I am fine until it is time to finish the binding and then everything proceeds at a snail's pace.:(

I am a scrapbooker and learned the hard way that having 900 UFOs is not a good thing. With my quilting, I have changed my ways. I now have 3 projects going at once, and I have sworn off starting any more until these are finished. I really, really want to make a king size quilt for my own bed, so I'm holding that out as an incentive to finish up these current projects.

I am so bad that not only do I have several quilt projects going but I have two or three books going at the same time

I try to only have one at a time, but some times things happen and I end up with more. God bless. Penny

Doing more than one quilt at a time enables me when I run into
a problem on one quilt to have another to work on to satisfy my
quilting urge. May be a machine quilt or a hand quilt or some
other quilting project. It's great always having a quilting project.

I have several irons in the fire and it works for me. I never finish just one project at a time either. I finish several at a time and i love the acoomplished feeling of that. I LOVE the excitement of finding a new pattern or seeeing an old pattern with a new twist and I can not wait to try it out. And folks it has been said "Normal is just a setting on your washing machine"!!!

Always have about a dozen projects going at once. My sewing room is uncontrolled chaos but it works for me. Piles of fabric everywhere, patterns here and there, stuff on the cutting mat for the next project. Love it! Love it! Love it!

We all seem to set our own norms, don't we?

You should not worry about what others do in quilting or otherwise. Believe me, most of us would love to be more like you! I am a seamstress from years gone by and always have had more than one project going at a time...mostly due to too much happening in my life. But you are fortunate to be so focused and directed to be able to accomplish one important project at time.

Anything we do in life is a gift...something to grow with and to learn from. Whether for ourselves or being made for someone else, it is a really valuable process for us to appreciate and enjoy. So hang on to that thought and enjoy every moment and project.
