No! And lets not talk about it. It scares me to think of how much I got to do. I am starting in January next year.

reginalovesfabric 11-03-2010 07:11 AM

I gave quilts last year and made only one for this Christmas and it's ready to be put into a box and wrap.
I've been remodeling my house so Christmas will be slim this year.

klgreene 11-03-2010 08:03 AM

Just some quilting and binding on a candle mat for SIL, and I'm done. But I have a baby quilt I'm working on also. Need that done by the beginning of the years, so working on it a little at a time.

doxieloverred 11-03-2010 08:06 AM

54 days to go? That means I still have 53 days to think about it and work my butt off on day 54! LOL

Spring 11-03-2010 08:20 AM

ONLY how many day!?!!
Im freaking out! I have soooo much to do. 5 flannel nightgowns to get sewn and smocked, 5 lap quilts, 1 handbag, 3 pincushion (heather bailey's make awesome stocking stuffers), 3 personalized pillowcases. I too work good under pressure and with hubby already in Virginia I can work all through the nights...lol Who needs sleep anyway. Family meet crock pot....you guys are going to be seeing a lot of each other!

Gramma 11-03-2010 08:29 AM

What is a rice filled hand warmer thingy? How does that work? Maybe that is a dumb question. How do you make them?

jdavis 11-03-2010 08:39 AM

I'm not even going there this year! Too long on unemployment.

Spring 11-03-2010 08:41 AM

Rice warmers are awesome! I should make MIL one for christmas.

I make mine just like a small pillow but instead of stuffing you use rice. Then you can nuke it in the Microwave for a few minutes. Its really warm and toasty. My kids love them.

PJO 11-03-2010 08:44 AM

Yeah, Right LOL

KathyKat 11-03-2010 11:08 AM

I'm hoping I can get my stuff all finished. I've barely started. I'm in the process of changing my office over to a sewing room and everything is in a jumble. Hubby is steam cleaning the carpets of 3 rooms tomorrow while I'm shopping in the twin cities for a couple days. Then I can start to arrange everything when i get back and hopefully be sewing by Monday.
Thanks for the reminder!!

jsmith3151 11-03-2010 12:05 PM

All of what I want to give for Christmas is done. Now I get to work on my Christmas tree quilt (one that was on Keepsake catalog). Only reason that I am done is I was sick last year and no one got their presents till July 4th - so I just kept sewing this year! First time ever!!!!

And great with a little lavender thrown in with the rice.

IBQUILTIN 11-03-2010 01:31 PM

There's at least 4 of us. I love fruitcake.

trupeach1 11-03-2010 01:51 PM

does it count if not only do I have sugar plums dancing in my head I have everything I want to make dancing too. Now if they could just move their little feet from my head to the work table I would be all set.

QuiltMania 11-03-2010 02:08 PM

Will you hate me if I say all my projects are done?

Boni53 11-03-2010 03:22 PM

I am so glad to see that I am not the only one in such a state. I am making my children(6) quilt tops(queen) for Christmas. I have 6 tops made, but do want them to all have a stack & whack. I have done 3 of them. Don't know how I will figure out who gets what. Maybe draw numbers. I have a bout 3 weeks before I go back to work. Been out for surgery. So I am going to work hard. You will all get most of your gifts done. Just Focus.

My mom made a neck warmer like that out of fleece with lavender infused rice and I love it. I get muscle tension headaches so I toss it in the microwave for 3 minutes and after eating a couple of Somas' and a Loratab I put it on my neck and life is good.

Meanie! I have 5 nieces and nephews in Georgia so I have to start early. Started last January.

MerryQuilter 11-03-2010 04:35 PM

Have just been sewing on a few today! Feels great was getting "panicy"

garysgal 11-03-2010 04:51 PM

So far so good. I might make it. (at least in thought!)

Roseysue 11-03-2010 05:14 PM

I am still getting my ideas organized. Too many ideas for the time! The fabric is washing and I am sorting it. but most important the Christmas Fabric is ready to go. Now I have to find all the patterns I got and decide the realistic amount to attempt. Way more than there is time for.

Quilter2B 11-03-2010 05:19 PM

Been thinking about it for the last couple of weeks. Only making one quilt this year for the new grandbaby who is supposed to arrive in December. Grandkids are all getting flannel lined denim jackets - worked on my grandaughter's today, its going to be really cute. I'm thinking I'll be good to go and be able to get them in the mail in time (everyone lives out of state)

Roseysue 11-03-2010 05:25 PM

My grandbabies have all gotten out of the baby stage. Sure loved doing baby things for them. I've already done bed wuilts and "cuddle quilts" for them. Now I am making a quilt for my bed. I am putting that aside to do some Christmas things

elsieirene 11-03-2010 05:32 PM

This is great! so cheerful, brought a smile on my face.

Roseysue 11-03-2010 05:36 PM

I am smiling too.

Berta48 11-03-2010 06:04 PM

I am making throw covers for everyone but only have four on the list. One will be a memory quilt for SIL.
And one wall hanging for DH office.

Roseysue 11-03-2010 06:10 PM

Can you tell me more about the throw covers? Sound like a good idea. Do they take a long time to make? Do you have a picture? I'd love to have something for the adults in the family. Let me know. Thanks

gmaybee 11-03-2010 06:18 PM

I pretty much do things throughout the year and give them to people then. All the kids get a gift card to someplace they want and one gift to open. We cut back a couple of years ago when my husband was without a job for 1 1/2 years. This time of the year I'm sewing samples for the quilt shop I work at. The owners go to quilt market and then we're making samples for up coming classes.

Annz 11-03-2010 06:26 PM

Oh no!!

Short an Sweet 11-03-2010 06:27 PM

mine are all cut out, just have to do the assembly part now

Mornigstar 11-03-2010 06:54 PM

Thanks to all of your pics I made a "Bow Tuck" purse Want to show pic when I learn how. Have the rest made or bought so feel no stress. Excited about the purse since made from
leftovers for my sil since she doesn't want a quilt for Fl.
she picked out the fabric yrs ago so I know she likes the
colors. These days sure fly by.

penski 11-03-2010 07:08 PM

havent really given it a thought !! it just seems this year has gone by so fast

annette1952 11-03-2010 08:04 PM

I'm nowhere near being ready for Christmas. Guess I better get in gear! Seems like so many other things in the way right now. Have to push them all aside! LOL

Roseysue 11-03-2010 08:07 PM

Sometimes that's what you have to do. Just push everything aside that isn't christmas and bring out your Christmas suff. Then you won't have any other distractions. Good Luck
