Part of the great charm of quilting, to me, is the fabric. I love collecting the stash...I love beautiful colors.

how pretty!! do you have a fabric to add to them? it would be lovely to have a large center of your features.. then strips around.. like a 9-patch. but the center is very big and the strips are small to show off the fabric.

cut sizes
center 6.5" x 6.5"
sides 2.5" x 6.5"
and 4 corner stone 2.5" x 2.5"

You can repeat the center for the 4 corners and then use a more tone on tone for the sides in several shades... set side by side

Everyone has such great ideas! I've looked through endless magazines and websites and I just can't seem to find something I like. Does anyone ever have so much trouble finding something to do with specific fabrics?? I'm going to keep looking...and if I don't find a pattern I like then I'm just going to sit on the fabrics until something comes to mind.

When I suggested this pattern it's because I have seen it done in various asian prints and it was beautiful. Should have included that information in my first reply. It only takes 7 FQ's for the focus in the shadowboxes. I made it in only one fabric because my g-dtr loved the fabric.

what amazing fabric... that is so cool!

My friendship group made a Teapot quilt using all oriental fabrics. The teapots were fused on black fabric and then they each used their favorite decorative stitch on their machines and stitched around each piece of the teapot. It came out beautiful.
Some were able to fussy cut parts of the fabric to give the teapot extra zing.

your welcome! I had no more of any of the Asian fabrics in my block.. I keep thinking I should collect more like it and do 4 more blocks... or maybe just frame out the one for a wall hanging...
