It isn't just first quilts that have "oops", so don't beat yourself up over it. It's just another learning experience.

If this is a wall hanging , put your hang sleeve on that side ( if quilt is not directional) ask me how I know

First quilts alway have opps! This one sounds fixable. It just depends on how perfect you are trying to be. I personally would take the side of the binding off to a point well above the problem area where I know I am attached correctly and place the binding back in its proper place. No need to take it all off to correct a small area.

One can handstitch the binding back in place. It might show a little bit, but one has more control then attempting to machine stitch it back in place.
If there is machine stitching showing, one can go over the "blank spot" by machine to try to "make it match" the rest of the machine stitching. One thing to be said about "oops" situations - one's creativity gets tapped. The other things said about "oops" situations - usually are in the "Oh, golly, gee, shucks" category. |
