you could always use black sashing and then "toggle" the blocks so that they are each a little bit off center, yet your finished blocks are the same size. They might dance a little bit more that way!

The only thing I might add would be sashings and boarder in a black fabric with little stars or random dots that would look like stars. Then your big stars would pop out of a starry sky background. Finding just the right fabric may not be easy to do.

Thank you, each and every one of you for the opinions and good ideas. I'll keep you posted on how it goes. I am slow, so don't give up on me! Thanks again, friends.

Perfectly beautiful, as is.

Its lovely just like it is, but I would go with black sashing so I could show off a beautiful varigated bright thread with the quilting. Whichever you decide, you can't go wrong...its beautiful!

This is sort of what I was talking about, but not on point just look at the sashing

NICE idea!

The thing is, if you have sashings, you don't have to worry about the points of every star in every block perfectly meeting the points of the next star in the next block! It gives you a little flexibility because not all of us are perfect piecers.

Ok, I told you I was slow but here it is. Still has to be quilted but I'm getting there. I ended up doing sashing because in the midst of making all the stars I changed sewing machines, did some other projects, got better at cutting and needless to say none of my stars were exactly the same size. I had to improvise.

No sashing they look great like that. The comment that it makes them twinkle is very accurate.
