I agree that they look cute, though. |
yea, this is a hard one for me because I love to embellish my quilts- but I would never, ever put buttons on a baby quilt--im not sure i would even trust a yo yo unless it was totally appliqued. I do a lot of 3 d pinwheels on my baby quilts. Lots of chenille- ric rak- anything to give it texture. some i tie off in places even though it has been quilted just to give it some character.

I have to agree with the ''No's". Definitely NOT worth taking the chance!
Only on a wall-hanging. As stated before, too great a choking hazard to be used on a quilt that will be regularly handled by a baby.
No, not buttons or even small yoyos. They can choke on those too if they can get them off.

I thought buttons would be great for when the GKs got older but no. My 11 year old GS has ADHD and still chews on things. Better not to risk it. Maybe wall hangings for older folks like me.

Babys have very sharp nail. They cam cut right through threads under the buttons. If you would like some texture you could sew on some scraps of dif fabrics.
I would go with your first instinct as you don't want buttons or bows caught in little throats.
No, buttons on baby quilts.
