Yes, I have it and I really do like it other than sometimes it tends to be a
little shaky, could be I didn't put it together tight enough. I LOVE the cutting mat. I got all of mine last year at JoAnn's 50% off sale. I am 5'8" and it's perfect hght. I also was lucky enough to find a cushioned bar stool with a back that I use at it and have a regular stool on the other side if someone else is working with me. I also have an 8 ft. table to put my quilts together on plus a sewing cabinet for one machine and a sewing table for the other one and then all my shelves for material. Now if everything was neatly organized it would be perfect. |
The table looks great and a really good price. If you ever have access to a ping pong table, it is great for a cutting surface!. I bought mine at a yard sale for $20. and keep it in my basement. I can cut and do not have to worry about the cutting mess. I put a cutting mat that came from Joanns on it and use the other end for assembling. Just a suggestion. Happy quilting! :)

I have this table too, and I love it. It measures about five inches higher than my dining room table, and is a perfect cutting height ... no leaning over at all. I'm short, only 5'2, but my sister who is about 5'7 has the same table and finds it to be a good height for her as well. Go for it ... you will love it!

My theory about buying things now a days is when in doubt, BUY it! Especially when it is on a great sale. Most stores have generous return policies. That is what I would check. You can probably buy the table, take it home, open it up, try it out, and then return it if the table doesn't work for you. It won't hurt the table, and the stores are usually more than happy to accept your returns. They want you to be a happy customer. Then they can sell it to someone else it may be a better fit for.
I've found that too many times in the past,t by the time I finally decide, the sale is gone. Now I always buy first, and stew about it with the item sitting in my home. I'm amazed at what I really end up loving, and what I decide I really didn't need just by having the box sitiing on my counter. Happy shopping! |
I to am only 5 foot, but never thought to use a step stool. I gave it to my daughter who is 5'6" and she loves it after her hubby reinforced it.

Hi, I have this table and really like it. I have a small room to sew in so the fact that if folded was my reason for getting it. I have a very bad back and have no problems with it. I am 5' 6" and I thought it might not stand high enough, but now that I have used it for awhile, my back has not complained yet.

I have 2 of these tables and love them. I am 5'2" and
I don't have any problems or feel any strain from them. I really like the fact that they close up to about 1 foot. |
I have had this table for 3 or 4 years and I love it. Perfect height for cutting and pinning. You can use half or all of it. It rolls from room to room and folds down to barely inches if you want it out of the way. I have used it for a bar for parties and covered with table cloth and used it for a Christmas display. It is worth the money. You do have to lock the wheels and make sure the table top is snapped in. If you are vary aggressive as you cut it will jiggle a little. It is not for putting your sewing machine on and sewing I don't think. The vibration would be too much for it although for large things to sew I have used it.
Hope it helps. |
I too have this table and love it - it is functional and practical. When there is a lot of cutting to do - the opened table is great, especially if you have the large cutting board the size of the table. When I finish cutting I fold the table back down and put the cutting board behind the table against the wall and it works great. Good choice if you get one. :)

I have had this table for about 5 years. Works very well, perfect height for me, I am 5'5" tall. I also have the cutting mat. The table folds up nicely for storage. :D
|
I've had mine for a few years and just love it. I bought a large mat that covers the entire table so I can lay out large areas to cut. It's also nice that it folds up into a compact unit should you need the space. I bought mine at 50% off and it's the best money I've spent. I'm rather short 5'2" and it's just the right cutting height for me.
|
I, too, have this table. I am 5'3'' and it works great for me. Love it. :D :D :D
|
My friend who taught me how to quilt has one. I have worked with her at her table in learning how to quilt. I don't like it because there is a bump where the peice meet togerther. This just drives me a little nutty when trying to cut material on it. If yours will line up right then it is a good table.

I have one and I like it very much, but I am afraid I use it to put clutter on more than cutting. I have to clean it off every time I use it. Guess I need to fold it up when I'm not using it for cutting.
|
i have a fold-up table from cosco that i love. the top is 30" x 72" with fold-up legs on each end. the top is molded plastic like you see in lunchrooms or vfw halls, so it's not gorgeous, but it was only $59.00 +/-. the height is 29", but you can put something under the legs. when it's folded it's less than 4", so i just slide it against the wall. i'm 5'2" and it's okay for my height.

Hi,
I have this table. One of the wheels broke off so it wobbles a little. I am able to store fabric underneath in a bookshelf. Would I buy it again? Probably, because I can put alot of stuff on it (and under it). I have a huge cutting mat on it so I can cut bigger pieces of fabric. Jean |
It is a little flimsy, and, at 36" high, it is much to short to use for a major cutting job, but when I am on a rolling chair it is handy for pinning together a quilt sandwich. It is quite easy to put the sides up or down, as needed, and I have found that when the sides are up they do seem to stay up.
|
I have this exact table from JoAnn's and it works just fine for me, I am 5'7" and have back problems, but I can work on this table all day with no issues...I set it up in the living room when I'm working and it folds up and easily rolls into my craft room when I am done, I bought it with a 50% off coupon and have not regretted it; I'd buy it again. The wheels lock in place when you are working and it is a nice size for any project, you can work with one side down if you only need a small area to work on, so it is a very flexible tool.
|
My mom has this one. Way too flimsy for cutting for either of us. It has been relegated to the side of the room to lay out projects and already cut fabric. Fortunately we both have husbands who built us custom cutting tables. If you have that option, I think it is the best. You can get the height and size that best fits you and mine has shelving under it for material!
|
I am 5'8" and it is a good height for me that doesn't kill your back when cutting fabric. I wish it was a little bit sturdier but it does the job and you are getting it at a good price. I paid $79.99 on sale for mine.
|
I have this table and I love it! It is about the same height of a kitchen counter and the surface is nice and large. I've had mine for about 4 years and it served quite well as a library shelf for all of my nursing text books (about a three foot stack!) without any failures (me or the table :). When there isn't anything on it (that never happens) it folds up and wheels nicely for storage in the closet...
|
I bought this table on sale at JoAnn's quite a few years ago & I just love it. I think I have only taken it down twice since I have had it otherwise it's up all the time & always in use. I haven't had any problems with mine & height wise is fine I'm only 4'11'' so I am short!! If you can afford it buy the big mat to go with it also it is great. Good luck!!
|
I have had this table for about 5 years now, don't know how i ever got along without it!! i LOVe it! i can fold part of it and have less space, open it all the way and have lots of space, it moves easily, i am so thankful to have it DAILy.
when i received the table my kids bought me the cutting mat that fits it, which is wonderful too, accept, i kind of wore it out  using a coupon for it is great!!! |
I have one and I love it, love it, love it. It's taller than a standard table so it helps my back. Plus it folds down when I need the room.
|
If you want this table...JoAnne's has it on sale right now;)
|
I believe I got this same table at Hancocks, several years ago. I am 5'2"" and it is a bit tall for me, so I just use it for storage. I use my sewing table to cut or my DR table, as they suit me better since I am verically challenged. Hope you al had a super TG. Had it at my daughter's house in Denver, with her in laws. Was really nice. Served at 1 PM and I left about 4:30 or so, as I broke me glasses in a fall last week and awaiting my new ones. weather was fantastic, to be near 70 today. The food was superb and her pumpim pie was to die for. She and hubby are gourmet chefs. I don't call them cooks, as they are so wonderful at what they do, but need abigger kitchen. In real life they are accountants. Wish TG came more than 1 time a year. I nener over eat, so it would be OK with my waist line. Blessings to all of you dear ones on this site.

I have this table and love it! I am 5'4'' and find it to be an excellent height
|
it is me again. have a bowl of popcorn in one hand with no salt butter--ha. joanns mailer has an additional 20% off entire order for next couple of days---sew you can get it even cheaper. :D
|
I've had this table for years. I am 5'3". I had my DH glue cork board on top. It's great. The cork makes it so nice for copying patterns. The patterns and paper can be pinned to the cork and don't move. I cover the cork with white butcher paper. That makes a bright surface and the patterns are easy to trace. My cutting mat fits perfect for cutting fabric. The only drawback is that it will lean when moved. I have a carpet floor and this could be part of the reason. Someday I want DH to put it on wood legs.

JudeWill: What a clever idea. Have my cutting table in my large LR in front of my ceiling to floor, wall to waal windows. Really Nice. Would rather have it in my sewing roohm, or at least the room I have designated as my SRm when I moved here from SD. But, to unapck this SR, and will do when I recover from my faa on the ice 10 days ago. So anxious to start sewing an quilting. Cronic Fatigue Syndrome rules my days and with fubromyalgia, makes fall recovery slower.
Anyway, your cork board idea sounds great. Thanks for sharing your idea!!! |
This will be your best investment!
|
Welcome, but I can't claim credit. Got the idea online somewhere. It does work out great! :D
|
Well, Black Friday has come and gone and I am curious to know if you bought the table.
I had one and found it a little wobbly, so I pushed it up against a wall to give it a little more stability. My daughter confiscated it when we moved and my husband built me a new cutting table with drawers. She loves it and likes the fact that the sides drop down when she is not using it, since they live in an apartment. |

OK - I got a lot of great advice about the table. I decided not to buy it - I know ... I know.. but space was a factor and I am going through a seperation and money is tight. Decided I could put my dining room table on the bed lifters and have cutting height for a day. I also " frugally" repurposed other items to make a new sewing area in the living room. I gave up my sewing room upstairs - cats domain and the two dogs would be up there creating havoc more than not. SO... I moved downstairs. Have gotten way more sewing done with it right in the living room. Used a big old table for my cutting mat and machine. And a small table for my little ironing mat. Put some storage underneath and my design wall over the table. I appreciate everyone's advice and everyone put such thought into what they said about the table. I just had to think about not spending the money. Thanks again!

Good job for holding strong. Isn't it amazing what a little bit of creative rearranging can do?
|
Your sewing are looks great.
|
I just bought this table for the same sale price at Hancock's on Black Friday. I LOVE it! It's definitely the right height for cutting. You can also order a pressing pad for it. I love that it folds up out of the way when not in use.
|
Guess I need to get mine cleaned off and folded up. By the way the picture of your cat is like my cat.
|
Hey, you did well without the table. Great Therapy area! Wish you much luck!
