Same thoughts as mine: If you add a white strip before the 1st blue border you will get a 'floating' effect which is quite nice. Also, you might consider mitering the corners. Here's a sampe of what I mean:
(However you did that?) Now there's one more thing that I'd do to complete the "picture" ........... put the floral print on both sidees of the dark blue in the bottom left corner. Likewise a single floral print at the point of the chains bottom right and top left to complete them. The rest of that row all around would be done the same, with white in between. Then the solid white as done by Mom3. This quilt is spectacular! |
I like #1. Are you going to miter the border print? That would look great on this fabulous quilt.
peace EDIT: post #30 is perfect! |
A;White strip between two blue check strips and mitered corners would be my choice.
I like #1 the best
I like #1 the best! This is going to be so pretty!

I love your fabric choices. I like the way sample number one goes further out and then be sure to miter your corners on the outside border. Beautiful quilt.

Would really look spectacular if you miter the outer border. If that's not an option, then No. 1 looks best to me.
I love the colors and the way you used the flowered fabric. But I think if you could miter the borders it would really finish it off! Perhaps you are going to do that, and just didn't fold it that way for the picture. It will be a lovely quilt !
I like the first one and I like quiilterCND's suggestion to put a thin white strip between the blocks and the first border, would love to see how that looks. Whatever you decide it is really beautiful.

#1 - and would love to see what it would look like with the white strip, mitered corners would be a beautiful finish. You are going to have one beautiful quilt!!!
i'm with everyone else #1 it looks wonderful
I agree with the others - #1 does it for me, especially with a thin, white border.
Both are beautiful, including your quilt, but I think I like #1 a little better. I just love blue/white quilts, so pretty.
This is going to be a lovely quilt. I vote for #1 with the white inner border. :)
I vote for Number 1. Don't know why, I just like the look of it better. It pleases my eye.
#1 is my favorite
I just finished an irish chain this week and I also like the thin white strip suggestion.
Both are lovely but I lean towards #2. Your design is beautiful. Marvel
No. 1. Very beautiful, by the way!
I would miter your border print, it would keep it from having such a chopped or abrupt finish. It would be very pleasing to the eye. Trish
I vote for #1. Also like the idea of mitered corners on the outer border.
I agree # 1
Beautiful work! #1 my choice.
I like #1 also, beautiful quilt!!!
#1 with mitered corners. Very pretty quilt.
I vote for # 1. This will be a very nice quilt, I predict.
#1 gets my vote beautiful!
Number two for me.
#1 for me for sure. To me the last full square design on the left looks cut off in the second layout.
I vote for #1. I love the blue fabric, and using it with white is perfect. Lots of room for nice quilting.
Number 1. Beautiful quilt.
I like #1 best, and add a white border before any of the blue borders....it will make the design "float" and give it separation......beautiful quilt, love the blues and the fussy cut centers!
Wow, Mom3, what awesome software! That would save me bunches of time with colored pencils and design walls! I not only went with #1, I added the white border and put one square of the vines at the top of each "point" to finish them. Thanks for all the suggestions and encouragement! I will post a pic if I ever finish the beast.
My quilter's friend whatever you choose to do with this quilt, surely will be a beautiful quilt, coz the fabrics, the color and the designed, they all blend pretty good! I (or we ) see this pretty quilt, thank you for sharing with us!

Think I like the first one better. Very pretty.
