Good luck with going through your fabric and deciding which to keep and which to sell. Sounds like a big job.

I don't know. That would be a hard decision to make. I am keeping
all of my fabric and told my daughters to give it to the quilt guild
if they didn't want it.

My kids are so worried about having to get rid of it when i'm gone, I'm going to leave them soooo much its going to make their heads spin and they will be cussing me out long after i am gone, and I will be watching from heaven and laughing my butte off. I hate daylight savings time.

I would get rid of the "why did I buy that" fabric? Keep all of the fabric that you like and find patterns and get busy and do as many quilts as you can. I have hundreds and hundreds of quilting books - probably won't make buy a few quilts out of all of them put together. Once in awhile, I do pull them out and look through them, but will not get rid of them. As far as I know, no one in my family is interested in quilting. My girlfriend will get all my quilting related things - what she doesn't want will go to a quilting quild for the members' use.

I would keep half yard cuts.

A good bit of my stash is 1/2 and 1/4 yd pieces...or smaller(if I have used off of them) Especially if you intend to make some
scrap quilts along the way, the more variety, the more
interesting it is, at least to me. You are my age also, and I
think we begin to realize we aren't going to make another
100 quilts, ha.

I think that would be a wonderful idea.

Keep at least 1/2 yard of each piece. If you don't, somewhere down the line you'll probably find yourself wishing that you had.

I wish I lived close to you. I'd come to your yard sale. I agree with others that you shouldn't sell the fabrics that you love most, at least not all of any one of these. A half yard is good to keep if you are thinking of small projects but don't hesitate to keep several yards of your favorites.

I think keeping 1/2 yard of each you like is reasonable. And if you have some that are excellent for either blenders or if they are very useful overall they might be worth keeping a yard's worth.
And if there are some you don't like at all pass those along, you most likely won't use them.
I think if you post here as some have suggested you would probably make out better than just a yard sale.
