I agree with Ginger K. I found the 2nd one easier to follow the pattern. I like it so much I got out my colored pencils and sketched out a lay out of it. Now to decide what size blocks and how big to go. Thank you for the inspiration!

Number 1 is my choice. :thumbup:

You have to think about what the whole quilt will look like. I prefer the 2nd one, since their is a line of what looks like Irish chain. very pretty! I love black and while in quilts.

Second one for me is more striking

Number 2: it seems to be 'cleaner' looking and it pops the color out more.

However, I really do like both of them.

I like both. If I were doing it, I would probably do the first layout but use 2 different color squares in each block, i.e., instead of 2 yellow or 2 blue, randomize it by using a red and yellow, or a blue and yellow.
What's great is that they all look wonderful!
