the brown looks better. I was once told to think of the border as the mat and frame for your quilt. If you try to match the mat to the picture, one's eye will travel back and forth between the mat and the artwork looking for a match. By selecting something more nutral, one stays focused on the art. The second selection is too harsh a contrast and looks like a black line has been drawn between the blockwork and the border print. the first selection acts more like a transition step picking up some of the color of the blockwork yet also takes a nod to the pattern of the border. nice fabric! you have a good eye!

Don't like either.I would use the same border fabric.....The other 2 seem to interupt the beautiful border....Oh well just me:)
Definitely #1!
number 1, very pretty..post a pict when you are finished..
number one numbe one.
number 1 for sure.
I like #1 more. It s makes the colors in the border more vivid. But either would be beautiful.
I vote for number 1.
I like #1.
I also like 1, it makes the quilt go together.
I would choose #1, very pretty.
#2 is the i truly like but 1 is also nice looking
The brown does it!
Love the first one. The colors are spot on!
Definitely #1 IMHO.
I like No 2 best. Hugs
I like #1.
I say #1 and then a #2 (teal) piping before or with last wide border.
I vote for #1! It's a beautiful quilt, either way.
throw me in with the brown family! it just feels right! and i love teal! beautiful colors! can't wait to see it done!
#1!! Love the colors and design of your quilt!
Brown! The pattern on the brown matches the pattern on the border, IMO! The color of the teal seems a bit dark, at least on this computer screen. Guess I ought to fess up to loving the brown batik and the pattern batik.

The first one for me too. The blue in the second one is so dark it "stops" the quilt before your eye travels to the border.

Which color do you want to emphasize?
If you use the brown it dominates heavily. If you use the teal, you see both better. And for me, I do see the teal better, as in sticks out like a sore thumb-------it's way too dark for rest of the quilt. But then maybe there is quite a bit of darker teals in the rest of the quilt. BTW, I love the pattern. |

I'm thinking that my real objection to the teal is that it's too intense or dark or whatever. I suspect I'd like the teal if it were not so dark, and if its pattern showed up a bit more. |

I prefer the second because I always like the binding to be the darkest.

Okay, I'm all wet again! I had to go back to look at teh pics. I did not even notice the binding choices. Now I'm positive I prefer #1 |
I like two.
#1 gets my vote...beautiful colors..because it would go in my bedroom...love it!
definitely number 1.
I love the brown. The quilt is beautiful.
Number 2, colors more vibrant.
I have the borders sewn on now. Thanks to all for your opinions. I used the brown for a 2" border with the print measuring 10". In the corners, I used the teal for a 2" corner where the brown meets. Then I extended the brown to the edge. Like 1/4 of a disappearing 9 patch. Now I just have to finish piecing the backing (quilt ends up measuring 114 x 113). The backing isn't wide enough, so I will be adding a strip offset from the middle using the practice blocks and rejects (including the corners that I made the wrong size). Can't wait to get it to the LAQ and have it finished.
I love them both, could you share the name of the pattern?
