It sure is an interesting concept, but the price is outrageous for snipped pieces of foam.
Whew! I had not even looked at the price. I just saw the video. I can not imagine trying to maneuver a large quilt with all those pin heads sticking out and getting caught on everything. I also could not imagine how she can quilt keeping the backing straight the way she is stopping to remove pin and foam.
i think you could use the peanut that you get from ups and they are free.
Interesting - they remind me of foam ear plugs.

Use marshmallows and then eat them when you get done.
Ditto Maride.
Then again, think of what people must have said when they first saw cutters? Jois |
Interesting concept.
Couldn't you do the same thing with cigarette filters??? Anyway, that's beside the point - the concept and the product isn't something that I would find valuable. Wow! I just checked out the price?!!!! |
I like the idea, but they are way too much money.

it's just pinning a quilt with straight pins, instead of safety pins
stopper idea is neat, but I think that they would get lost very quickly |
I think they're neat for like $3 or $4 a pack. Not $20, though. I agree they look just like earplugs.
I like the concept instead of taking the time to do and undo the safety pins! Pricey, and not sure how well they will stay in while maneuvering the quilt around to quilt it.
Boy that sure would stop me from poking my fingers! I like the idea but the cost....way too high!
Forgot to mention, remind me of the earplugs hubby wears at work....hmmmmm.
I think I stick with safety pins. (no pun intended).
Especially in times of spending wisely, I'd pass on this. Nothing wrong with safety pins. They look too bulky to try and maneuver around while sewing. IMHO.

I think the concept is smart, I would try them, but not at that price. $20 is too high, but I would pay $10.
Neat concept, but not too practical in my way of thinking. It looked clumsy watching her quilt and stopping to remove them... I would have to think about it, and maybe try it with a few ear plugs first.
LOL..I was thinking the same thing
For those of you who have cats - can't you just see the writing on the wall???

I prefer spray baste. I do like the idea of sticking them in your hand sewing needles... I will keep and eye out for the a couple of packing peanuts!

I am with you Marsye! Love marshmallows.
I'd have those little suckers flying all over my sewing room. At least when my pins hit the floor I can pick them up with a magnet!
I thought about this when I was quilting.Came up with earplugs.
Cheaper. |
I am not quite sure what the point of them is.
I like them. Sometimes my hands hurt so much from using the safety pins.

She says that they're made of silicone...and I'm thinking that I can go down to Home Depot and find something that will work as well, cut it and use that for the same purpose. I DO like the concept! |

I haven't felt a need for such a product. I'm fine using safety pins. I didn't check the price, although some of you thought it was high. These remind me of foam earplugs, which can be purchased in bulk at my local supermarket. They would accomplish the same thing, possibly at lower cost.

Why don't we use mini-marshmallows instead and eat them as we quilt. Yeah...that's the ticket!! LOL
(Sorry Marsye, just now read your post) |
Not for me - they look like foam earplugs. I don't mind an occasional pin prick.
Interesting idea, but I use hundreds of safety pins to pin baste...at $20 for 50...way to expensive to give it a real try.
I do like the idea of using them to find your hand sewing needles. Julie |
$20 for 50! To rich for my blood, but I do like the concept.
amen.

Looks like a great product, IF you still pin your sandwich layers before quilting. Since I have not pinned, only spray basted, for several years now I have no use for them. Looks much more practical and easy than safety pins.
