I would consider a narrow purple sashing consistent color/shade in the interior of the quilt, as it would be more to scale and not overpower your beautiful blocks. You are doing great and hope to see more as you progress.

I like it without the purple sashing strips. Looks best using the background fabric as sashing, this way there is nothing to compete with the beauty of the individual blocks.
|
My first thought when I saw your beautiful blocks was to quilt it using purple thread. That will also make you blocks pop. Decisions, decisions. Whatever you do the kids will love them.
|
I think use the light sashing to make the blocks the size you want then use a single purple between the blocks. You could try a black but the purple might look the best.
|
I really like your design with the sashing!

I like the purple! I always like a lot of color in my quilts! Beautiful blocks.
|
I think you need more than just the cream border, but I do not like the scrappy border. It takes away from your beautiful blocks.

PS--I like the piece that you have on the left side of the big block at the top in the picture--hope you have enough of that to do the entire sashing. I think it would pull all of those offerings together. |
I love scrappy, but don't like the scrappy sashings. I think one color sashing would unify and not distract. Or add another color - teal, bright green?

I like the idea of a cream sashing & then a plain, narrow purple sashing. The blocks are beautiful but there is a lot going on & I think plain purple might be a better choice, IMHO.
