Hah !! That was my DH's recent comment when I set about re-organizing my stash ... "How about just USING IT ??"

Wow! I think it looks great! I love to see all of the colors like that...it's even pretty to look at! I think you're already doing a marvelous job of organizing! Someday...I'll get there! :)

When can you come organize my stuff - great job

I used to do mine by color, but now I reorganized and sorted by yardage, under 1/2 yard, exactly 1/2 yard, 1 yard, up to 4 yds, and then 4 yds and over. I know I need 4 yards for a single bed, and sometimes will pick out a back before I pick out the colors for a front. I know it is backwards, (back, colors and then pattern) but it works for me.

I have 2 containers of scraps and 1 basket that I keep on the floor for larger leftover pieces. Just re arranged my area so it is really clean now, I also got one of the Safeco tables with the adjustable shelf to set my machine on, works great I will post pics tomorrow :)

Juliebelle, where did you find the Safeco table? It's just what I need.

ORGANIZATION?!? Oh my goodness, that is one funny word! I have most of my fabric in our spare room. Things i am working on are on my sewing board in front room. And a few more things on my ironing board in the living room. Oh, and a few things stuff in my bedroom too. LOL

I am almost finished ruler folding all my quilting fabric. I have file drawers under my large cutting table. I have my fabric according to main color, reds, blues, etc. Then I have batiks and novelty fabrics in their own drawers. I also have alot of pastel florals, so they are together. I have the plastic stacking drawers for fat quarters, again by color. I haven't even gotten to the Christmas fabric yet. I have too much of it. But I found that by resorting and refolding I found things I forgot I had. It also gave me ideas for Christmas projects and other gifts. I also found some dupes of some fabric. I have all my apparel fabric in floor to ceiling closets along the back wall of my sewing studio in my basement. I keep a dehumidifier going constantly so no moisture can accumulate and cause odors.

I love the table you have in the pictures today, where would one find one like that? Your sewing studio is a dream. Congratulations! I'm envious.

grann of 6, that noise you hear is me clapping my hands in applause. Way to go!

You look pretty darned organized to me. I wish I had that much space to do that. I organize by color like you do, but I put them in plastic bags so I just pull out a bag of whatever color. It's not the best way to organize, but much better than just throwing in a drawer and hope I can find something.
