I have one Ott light, and several lamps with daylight spectrum bulbs. I can't tell the difference, except in price.

Agree the lights are well worth it, especially when you use a coupon at Joann's or a craft store like Michael's.

By all means! I have three in my sewing room. Actually, I only have one Ott lamp, but use the Ott bulbs in my regular lamps.

I love my Stella light. I use it more than my OTTs. Long cord!

I love my table Ott light with the flexable neck so I can manipulate to whatever position I want beside my machine. Did not pay a great deal for it, got it at Costco.

I love Ott lights! I have 3 in my sewing room, 1 in the den by the chair I use for hand sewing, and a folding one that I take to workshops. My first Ott light is now 14 years olds. Although I use that light daily, the light bulb lasted until yesterday. I ordered a new bulb at 50% off from JoAnn's. I can't wait for the bulb to get here as I really miss that light.

I got a Verilux lamp thru the lighting store - just as nice, a bit cheaper. I do agree- it's about the bulb, not necessarily the fixture.

I posted earlier that I want a more adjustable Ott floor lamp for Christmas. My current one just doesn't adjust enough to shine on what I am working on. That said....I do however like the quality of the lamp and the original bulb lasted 7 years!! If Santa brings me the more adjustable one, my current one will live in the quilt room, shining over the machine table.

I read all the posts and am glad to see that all the people are having great success with their Ott lights. I am the exception, however. I have purchased 2 floor models in the past and neither one lasted a year. They are sealed so they can't be repaired. (Anyway, the ones I had were.) For the price, I just could not justify buying another considering my history with them.
