For the price, I just could not justify buying another considering my history with them.

I'm in the same camp. I had one that just died, no particular reason. I wouldn't pay that kind of money again.

I really like them!

I use the real Ott bulbs in a cheapie standing goose-neck lamp. The bulbs cost less that $12. Cannot understand the exorbitant cost some are paying, though I know they have the long bulbs.

I have had mine for years and love them..have several....the bulbs last forever....some are still original..years later.land I use them a lot...

I won mine through one of the quilt magazines years ago. I love it. Can't imagine quilting without it.

My sewing area is dark so I have a desk model on my sewing table and I love it, I have a floor lamp that my husband needs to repair and then that one is going to be more on the side of my table so I have more uniform light. I have good eyes but the clean white light makes everything much easier. I bought one for my husband's use by his lazy boy, he loves it and doesn't complain about not being able to read anymore.

Do you have to buy the Ott lite or can you just replace your bulb with an Ott bulb? I am asking because I need to justify the high $$ (even with a J's coupon)

Ott bulbs can be bought to fit any regular light socket. Here is a chart: http://www.lightbulbsdirect.com/page...FWRk7AodXFAAQQ

For my Ottlight I found Joann's with a 40 off coupon costs more than the exact same one at Lowes! And the bulbs are less at Lowes also. Do love the Ottlight

I have one that mounts on my sewing cabinet and has a swing arm over my machine that can be adjusted-it is wonderful! I also have a smaller on that just sits on the desk that allows me to do handwork. I would like to purchase one that is a floor model to use when I sit in an easy chair to watch TV and do handwork at the same time. The Ott-Lites give good light that is comfortable for eyes (aging eyes in my case). They are worth their cost. I have not had to replace any bulbs yet.
