Ohh! that must have hurted a lot...why don't you try a flat iron with a cool tip...or one which comes with thermal heat protectant glove..

O'Keeffe's Working Hands Hand Creme....it works wonders on dried out hands that have tiny cuts and burns. Works for me. Bought it at Lowe's Lumber Company.

Aloe gel...it works as well as the plant.

That's my go- to for burns for years....in fact I have an aloe plant around the house just for that purpose....I get burned on things from the over.

Slow down! would be my recommendation.

For future prevention: I took some of my husband's old yellow chore gloves that had holes in a couple of fingers. I cut off a few of the good fingers and keep them by the ironing board for such events.

I've got a bunch of those silicon finger tips. I had to get extra since I use them for English Muffins on the griddle. (Checking bottom to see how brown)

Vitamin E helps with pain and scarring.

I love the silicone thermal fingers! They are the best! I was tired of burning my fingers and saw them demonstrated at a quilt show a few years ago - I haven't burned my fingers since and they are terrific when working with small pieces because they kind of grip the fabric. After using them a few times, I bought a bunch of them and gave them to my quilting friends.
