I like it, but I am missing the color yellow. If you add that, I think it will represent a full spectrum of colors. The new arrangement with white sashing looks great!

add snowball corners there add pinwheels there use a constant color there and in corner stones for unity? If you use a white square for the corner stones, then add corners to each of the four sashing that meet them would give another pinwheel, so tiny and cute. we added those kind of corners in clue 2 of bonnie hunters mystery this year http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2014/...on-part-2.html pretty easy to do! here is a sample from one of my quilts doing the pinwheel effect on the sashing so it pinwheels. Sometimes when chaos reigns, you need to add rather than take away :) |

That way you can make sure they are all in the right position. Then put them together on the design wall. At this point, you can move them around into different positions, and can turn them 1/4, 1/2 or 3/4 turns to get a different look. I like the way this is looking ... Keep in mind that sometimes the individual blocks just don;t look as nice as once they are sewn together. You'll start to see that change, if you join them in sets of 4, and I think will feel better about what the end result might be. |

Maybe group the blocks into like colors of four and add sashing to the four blocks. They may take on the look of flowers.

Start with the greens in the diagonal, then migrate to the blues, then to the purples and finally the pinks. Just glancing the blocks you have, I think that is doable, even if you have to make a few more blocks of a few colors to balance it out. Also play with the orientation of the blocks. You might like it better if they are oriented the same way. Dina I think the colours you've used are gorgeous and would definitely finish the quilt using the block layout "as is". It will be stunning! :) I definitely wouldn't add sashing. Please. |
When I look at the quilt one way I see that 4squares make a flower petal and when I look another way I see that 4 squares make a circle or snowball. Dashing could highlight either one of these patterns and give the quilt and your brain some order. I love the colors and appreciate how the white fabric sets them off. Hope you will finish because someone else will love this quilt!

I'm working on this same quilt. I love it and I'm not necessarily a scrappy fan. It's hard for me to do. I have taken the scraps from the cut-off corners and made tiny pinwheels. Not sure what I'll do with them but they sure are cute. The block is easy and fun to do. But --- I'm only half done. I appreciate all the suggestions for layout.
