Kindle Fire is the one that is full color, internet, email, apps, streaming, and books. It has a camera and has Alexa. There are flash sales during the year on Kindles. I usually buy one or two when they drop the price. They seem to never wear out.

Onebyone, are they capable of cellular connectivity, or are they wifi only?

eta: Never mind, I found the answer myself (a miracle!). It looks like they are either wifi only, or wifi & bluetooth.

I use the Kindle app on my iPad for quilt books I purchase or check out digitally from the library (as well as quilting magazines I check out digitally from the library). I borrowed Angela Walters book Free Motion Meandering from the library, then opened it it split screen with my Notes app in the other half of the screen. That allowed me to practice drawing the designs using my Pencil with the book open to the appropriate page.

But I still like flipping through my print books when I am looking for inspiration.

I wish there was good instructions how to get a picture or page to print. I have the computer app for kindle and a small black and white kindle but haven't figured out how to print anything. I have some cookbooks and need a print copy to make the recipes.

I don’t think you can print from a Kindle reader.

On a computer or tablet, use the “screenshot” function. From a Windows computer: “The easiest way to take a screenshot on Windows 10 is the Print Screen (PrtScn) key. To capture your entire screen, simply press PrtScn onthe upper-right side of your keyboard.

The screenshot will be saved to your Clipboard. To save the file, paste the screenshot into any program that allows you to insert images, like Microsoft Word or Paint.”

I think I'm the odd one out. I bought a kindle a few years ago but rarely use it. I find it very difficult to read books with it. I can't imagine using it for all my books and magazines. If I'm looking for a quilt pattern I can easily flip through my magazines, something I can't do with a kindle. I wish I could get used to it, but much as I've tried, I can't.

I open the Kindle app for computer, open the book page I want and then click the print screen key. The page prints fine. Simple and easy. I take a picture of a page with my phone if I want to send it to email to send to others, mostly free recipes.

Ok NOW I'm a happy camper. 😄 I didn't even know there was a Kindle app for the computer! Downloaded it and I'm on my way. Thanks, Onebyone!
