Love the quilt but don't think I will ever find time for it. This would be good if you have a lot of scraps around and boy, do I ever.

fmhall2 12-17-2011 12:21 PM

I absolutely love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dunster 12-17-2011 12:24 PM

That is a beautiful quilt, and thanks for the pattern link. I have never collected 1930's fabrics, but now am thinking that I would like to make a 1930's quilt. Problem is, I've already found several patterns that I like for that style! Funny how the pale 1930's prints never appealed to me before, but now I really like them.

This is a really nice sampler. I would love to attempt it but right now my budget does not afford this pattern. Just out of
curiosity is this hand applique or machine. You did quite a good job on this quilt, it is beautiful. Peace and Joy this Christmas. Grace

lauriejo 12-17-2011 02:03 PM

Oh my, I must have missed this when you first posted it. That is so beautiful!!! The colors are so soft and cozy. I am very partial to anything scrappy, especially in a sampler.

DonnaB 12-17-2011 02:36 PM

Thanks for the pattern link, yours is quite lovely, especially in the '30's prints.

Floralfab 12-17-2011 02:52 PM

It is a beautiful quilt. Be proud of your accomplishment. I love the 30's fabric.

zennia 12-17-2011 02:59 PM

Absolutely beautiful..I only dream I could ever do this.

MarthaT 12-17-2011 03:10 PM

For those who missed my first posting...I only quilted this quilt. Someone else pieced it. She hand appliqued the appliqued blocks and the borders. I have absolutely fallen in love with the 1930's prints and colors after doing this quilt! I send it back to her on Monday. A piece of my heart goes with it.

I have no idea how long it took Mrs. Joy to piece it. It took me a little over 2 months to quilt it. I have a big floor frame that I can stretch it out completely in and sit up to it to quilt. So I don't have to take time to baste or keep moving it in a hoop. It's right in the great room, so I can sit and quilt anytime I have a few minutes. It's my therapy!!!

huntannette 12-19-2011 05:31 AM

OMG OMG OMG I love it!!!!!

Luvluvluv2quilt 12-19-2011 05:37 AM

Martha it's stunning! Your quilting is absolutely gorgeous. And, Mrs Joy did spectacular work with the appliqué and piecing. I am so enthralled I ordered the pattern....a Christmas present to myself! Guess I better expand my little 30’s collection of fabrics. Hope I can find a good sale. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful quilt.

Grace MooreLinker 12-19-2011 05:45 AM

This is so pretty, reminds me of the quilts my Mom made. She used what ever fabric she had available. Then it was recycle before
the world knew what the word was. They lasted years, sure miss her.

What a beautiful Job....I love 30's fabric and have alot of them. I made a 30's quilt for a little girl, but added in Dora because she loved Dora. Here is a pic of it made this a couple of years ago.

dusty222 12-19-2011 11:27 AM

What a beauty. I'm almost afraid to ask what you charge to hand quilt a quilt like this. Whatever you charge would be worth it. It is gorgeous.

judy363905 12-19-2011 11:40 AM
