Pattern needed for cat quilt
 

I'm wanting to make a cat quilt, but can't locate a source for the pattern I want to use. It's the one where the cats are sitting side by side in a row. Mo Star has a shorter version but I'm wanting the taller one. Does anyone have this pattern or know where I can get one please?

If you go to Jordan Fabric , they have a free pattern called Kaffe Kats.

I think the pattern you're looking for is "It's Raining Cats and Dogs" by Janet Kime. I've made that pattern a few times - love the two cats! Paper pieced.

Not sure it matches your description but I made Pins and Paws by Missouri Star. Quick and easy using a layer cake. Check out the video.

I have made one but not sure if it's what you are looking for. I entered the name Kitty Cat Block in Cat Fabric and the picture came up. Apparently it was in a McCall's magazine. I don't know if you can follow through to get to a pattern through that--if it's the one you are hoping to find. This was part of a swap that i got the pattern. Another name on the pages is The Dread Pirate Rodgers Quilting Page.

It might be "cats in the attic". Do a search for it. It was a free pattern from a designer (I may have the story wrong.) who died unexpectedly. It was on her website, but her heirs did not keep up the site. It's not an easy pattern. It has lots of tiny pieces.

Cat Naps? Good luck - since her tragic death, many of her books and patterns have become unavailable.

A few years ago, somebody here posted a quilt of cats that was very much like the one @ Missouri Star (Pins and Paws), but there were cats going up, and cats going down, interlocked. It was so cute! Unfortunately, I can no longer find the picture or thread here.

Thank you, Cattitude (love that name!). I did see that one, it's one of the ones in the link I shared. The one that was posted here ages ago was more like Pins and Paws, but the creator had figured out how to adjust the background and cats so that where there is usually background it was another cat. It was quite clever.

Our daughters and I are all cat lovers. I grew up on a farm and when a litter of kittens was born, when they were big enough, Dad put them in his denim coat, buttoned it up and brought them to show me. I don't know if he was trying to entice me to come to the barn to see them (I hated it, the cows scared me and there were too many spiders) or if he was just showing me the kittens, but it started a life long love of cats.

Did the original person find the quilt pattern they were looking for? I'm curious to know what it was/is.

Here is pic of a kitty quilt I made several years ago. I found the pattern in an old issue of McCalls Quilting October, 2000 called Kitty Cat Charms,but have been told that it is in a book by Robert Callaham called The Cat's Meow.

Pattern was found!! It IS actually the pattern that was in McCalls Quilting October called Kitty Kat Charms. But along the search, I found one by Villa Rosa Designs called Cat City that makes a 42" x 56" for a Project Linus quilt. This is basically the same pattern as in the McCalls issue just done up smaller. But the icing on the cake was an adorable kitten in a basket free pattern from Windham Fabrics (PDF) called "Baskets of Fun" 57" x 68". I can see myself making more than a few of any of these patterns for Project Linus. Now, anyone have a cute puppy pattern??

What a great idea! That would be a great quilt for Project Linus. I've collected a bunch of animal "skin" prints to make a cat quilt, but didn't think of Project Linus. Thanks.

Every single member of my family would love this quilt- and I have mostly males but we all love cats :)

My new grandson's quilt does have a cat on it. When I finish it I will post a pic.

We are also cat aficionados and I have loved seeing the different patterns. I was busy making other projects, it now I must add Baskets of fun onto the list. It is darling! Kitty Kat Charms is also a keeper! Thanks for the inspiration!

Glad I could start the ball of yarn rolling on cat quilts....it's going to be a fun summer with all these patterns!
