Maybe it's more of an ocean/water theme; or floral; could be fairy-like or butterflies; lace ... Perhaps she should pick out a focus fabric that says "dreamy" to her, and you could design around it. |
I would just pick out fabrics I think is dreamy and feminine and just make whatever pattern I like.
In my opinion soft colors would do it for me. |

I know I'm kinda late to the party here, and you already have lots of great ideas here, but I just wanted to add that the fabrics and quilting designs you choose can make almost any pattern girly and feminine. Soft pastel colors really say dreamy.
