I am working on a new pattern and need to have it tested before I publish it. Is there anyone who enjoys paper piecing, has a little free time and can meet a 3 week deadline that would like to test my new design?

bluteddi 04-18-2011 03:06 PM

ohhh thats so cute..... i'd do it but, my sewing arm is in a cast..... pout

TonnieLoree 04-18-2011 03:07 PM

I will!!! Please, please, please. PM me if you would like me to. I'm actually very good at p-piecing.

gale 04-18-2011 03:07 PM

oh my goodness. that is cute. I don't work well with a deadline though. What do you want made? Just a block or an entire quilt?

Fabaddict 04-18-2011 03:09 PM

Heck, I can do it. Love PP and have plenty of time on my hands.

larkspurlanedesigns 04-18-2011 03:10 PM

Thanks, I'm glad you like it! I really need the whole quilt made to check my math since it is not one of my strong points.

I love pp but suck at binding.

larkspurlanedesigns 04-18-2011 03:23 PM

Thanks! So sorry to hear about your arm. Maybe next time?

I'm not the right person for this then-I'm incredibly super duper slow. I might just buy it when it comes out for sale though.

larkspurlanedesigns 04-18-2011 03:34 PM

That's even better Gale!

I've got two others lined up so I think between the three of you I should be assured of finding any problems. Have you ever tested a pattern before? The way I do it is to send the pattern and have you make it as if you bought the pattern and are making it on your own. You would use your own fabric, make notes of any problems you find and the quilt is yours when you are finished. I will also send you a new copy of the pattern when I publish it. If this works for you, let me know and give me your address and I will send out the pattern.

Thanks!
Sue

SewMomma66 04-18-2011 04:57 PM

Very cute!!!

978gray 04-18-2011 05:09 PM

Still looking for volunteers I am will. I have paper pieced a couple times and I am willing.

raedar63 04-18-2011 06:58 PM

I love it but suck at deadlines lol

Yarn or Fabric 04-19-2011 03:04 AM

If you are still looking I'll be happy to do it.
It looks so familiar to me for some reason. Very cute :)
I just went to your site and now I know where I saw it at - your site lol.
Very cute indeed.

Homespun 04-19-2011 03:06 AM

I am willing to try.

iwanttosew 04-19-2011 03:22 AM

How big is the finished quilt? Please send more information (PM) and I will give it consideration. I really enjoy PP!

allie1448 04-19-2011 03:28 AM

I love to paper piece, very happy to help if you are still looking for volunteers

larkspurlanedesigns 04-19-2011 03:30 AM

My new design is very similar to the one on my website but the quilt on the website is a more traditional Santa whereas this new one is wearing a flannel shirt, suspenders, blue jeans and work boots. The layout is a little simpler too, but thanks for noticing!

I have several people lined up to test this pattern right now but if for some reason they aren't able to do it I will come back and contact some of the others that have expressed an interest.

Thanks everybody!

hworthan 04-19-2011 03:44 AM

I would love too sounds like fun!

ywoodruff5 04-19-2011 04:02 AM

I have done a lot of paper piecing and would be happy to help and can meet deadline. PM me if you are interested.

stitchofclass2 04-19-2011 04:15 AM

I think it is adorable. But I really like the angel in your avatar. She would be perfect for the soldiers sheets/shroud. Do you have a pattern that you would be willing to share? That would be wonderful. Please PM me if you do. If not, that is okay. Yolanda Wood River

doowopddbop 04-19-2011 04:26 AM

Oh that is adorable! Wish I could squeeze one more thing in...

doowopddbop 04-19-2011 04:35 AM

Love your angel avatar, and just had a look at your website and your blog. What a talented designer you are!

Putz 04-19-2011 04:47 AM

What a cute pattern. Lumberjack Santa?? Love it! I have a thing for guys in flannel... don't see too many here in Florida. Good luck with the pattern, I know it will be a hit.

HI Sue, if you are still looking let me know, I am always PPing something. I used to be on the list of testers on the quiltdesigners group!

jolo 04-19-2011 05:43 AM

I have tested patterns before, but I am afraid that I might not can meet the dead line, I am very slow at pp.

JoanneS 04-19-2011 06:25 AM

I love paperpiecing, but I didn't see your request in time to volunteer. Maybe next time.

Your Santa block is darling, so I'll probably buy it when you have it ready to sell. It would be great in a quilt with other Christmas motifs, too.

purrfectquilts 04-19-2011 06:35 AM

Cute design. I like it and would be happy to help, but I see that you have enough. Best wishes!

larkspurlanedesigns 04-19-2011 06:38 AM

I am overwhelmed by all the offers to help! Thanks everybody! I am working on a book as well so I will probably need more testers soon and will post another message when I am ready but you might find out sooner if you follow my blog.

Thanks!
Sue

larkspurlanedesigns 04-19-2011 06:40 AM

Hi Jacquie,

I remember your name from the designers list! Nice to reconnect with you. I am also working on a book so I will keep you in mind when I am ready to test for that.

Thanks,
Sue

LOL I love those Santas! They'd make great little clowns too with a different color.

quiltergail 04-19-2011 06:44 AM

If you still need help, I have done lots of paper piecing could get it done.

LOL! Its funny that you mention clowns since I did this same idea with a clown block that will be in the next issue of Quiltmakers 100 Blocks from Today's Top Designers! In fact, its on the cover.
