I think either size would look great! Do you have enough for the 6 inch? Three yr olds NEVER get smaller! They get bigger! Don't forget to post pictures..we want to see!

Great message, '3 year olds never get smaller', going to check on amount of fabric, I'm sure I have enough for 6".

If you are going to cut you plain squares at 6inch they will finish in quilt at 5.5inch. With 11 blocks across and down, your inside quilt will measure 62.5x62.5 without borders. For your half square triangles, you would have to cut your squares at 6 3/8" then cut in half. This is according to my eq program. If you have the easy angle ruler, then you would just cut your squares for the half square triangles at 6inch. here is the site for the easy angle

Love the Friendship Star pattern. I never go anywhere without a small sketch pad to draw out ideas. And when I'm home transfer them to grid paper and color in. Then I place them in plastic folder that fits in a binder. Have enough ideas to keep me sewing for a while.

I think the colored pencils she shows are great for traveling too. You just screw them up like a mechanical pencil. No breaking. I'm SUCH a little kid at heart!

Thanks for the link and the idea on the twistables! Would be oh so fun!
I keep a set of washable coloured markers in my sewing room. Best thing to use when doing PPing, to mark the different fabrics on each section. Quick too! And being that they are bright, usually easier to identify what fabric to add .... and not put the wrong one on and have to take it back off!! :)
