I put a bookmark on the pattern I am interested and save the magazine. Periodically I go thru it and discard the ones I know I will never do! I donate them to the local guild.

I mark pages of a magazine with post-its on the patterns I might like to try. I've learned through trial and error, that I'm better off, setting that magazine aside, sometimes gathering appropriate fabric and putting it all in a large zip-lock bag that you can get at your local grocery store. When I've started a project, it's especially important to me that I keep everything together, as I've lost both pattern and materials when I was "too late smart".

I am trying to give away many things that I have accumulated during the years--quilting magazines was one of the items. I went thru them and copied quilts that I could use for charity (bigger pieces and simple designs that would still give me joy of trying a new pattern). The magazines I gave to the local library to give to the instructor of a quilting class to pass on to the quilters. The copied patterns are not organized--just have a large paper clip on them.

I make copies, place in protective sheets and place in binders for later use.
