I use 1" and 1.5" strips to make offset log cabin blocks (some people call them curved LC)

Nice bag, copycat. I’m sure your mother is getting lots of good use out of it.

Thank you for the links!

If you have, or can make enough strips...any size- mix your widths- as long as they are long enough strips...you can weave them like this:

You can make some really pretty things with this technique, and it's fun to learn to do.

another weave project....this time a basket:

also, this trunk show is fun:

You can use strips as narrow as 3/4" wide to make Pineapple Blocks. The large blocks pictured on the folded quilt here were made with 1 1/2" strips, . The pillow was made with four blocks using 1" strips, and the coasters were made with 3/4 inch strips (mostly scraps left over from the other two).

Mndless thanks for posting those links. Fabric weaving looks fun! Another technique for me to try at some point I think!

Those pineapples are beautiful, janjanq! But... they totally intimidate me.

How old is that beautiful baby now (in your avatar)?

Well, Darn it... Now I have more quilts that I want to make... :-)

Thanks for these links. My 2nd favorite things after quilts is baskets. Definitely going to try making some baskets using jelly roll strips!
