Thanks for the warning - I have looked at site several times but didnt sign up for anything since it took a very long time to go thru all her sale pitches!!!
If the unsubscribe isn't working, have you tried blocking the sender's email address?
I, too, was disgusted by her sales pitches. Also her use of caps and shouting and that her site was the best ever. I felt like I was in an infomercial. No more for me.
I marked it as spam and removed her from my contacts list. I've had to do this with a few sites. Their messages go dirctly to "junk" folder and they will go away after a few days or I can empty it myself. We live and learn...
thanks...I will stay away from her site.

Every e-mail was just a teaser to buy more. I soon found out I could have learned more, from this group or on Yu Tube. I regret the day I wasted my money, and time for this and am glad I didn't fall for more. I,m glad you posted this. I was kind of leery of doing it, because I thought I should not. I did get the e-mails to stop after a couple of trys. Hang in there and keep trying or just DELETE. I had the same experience! After several e mails and offers, I finally purchased her Machine quilting package, with several bonus offers, about $170. or so... I did not get all of the bonus offers, and after several unanswered phone calls, messages left, I finally got in touch with the company, they said to download it from the internet. OK I was not happy with this answer (as I paid for books, not to use my paper and ink) the downloaded articles were worthless, as was the written book and tips. She also included CD's of audio phone calls with questions and answers from featured quilters. These calls audio were so poor that I could not hear over ladies breathing,( these were conference call protocol) babies crying, mothers talking to children, one lady talking to a friend on another phone while listening to the call. I finally got fed up and again after several calls told the company I wanted my $$ back and I will send back the worthless materials. Yes they were worthless, everything she had in the articles, were on the internet free! I did look for complaints against her, but found none at the time, this was about 18 months ago. I did get a full refund, and guess what NO MORE E MAILS from her or her stupid cat! She is not selling anything secret or new, I can't believe that she is still in business! |
I signed up as you did, and quickly found out she is all about selling. I just unsubscribed and haven't heard a word from her since. But she certainly made herself a nuisance there for a while.
Same problem here. I got real tired of it. I did change internet providers (not because of her) and that I no longer get her mail is a real plus.
Yeah I did get those letters and stopped them for the same reason, but I didn't have trouble getting them stopped. It was waaayyy too much e-mail.
I experienced the same thing. I just select all the messages from her and her websites and the extended websites and delete them. I f you follow a link to have your name removed or cancel a newsletter you get tagged. So, just delete them eventually they will stop.

Who is your email service? Gmail will usually pick up on that kind of spammng and keep it out of sight. You can also mark it as spam on a lot of services so they can keep it out of your inbox for you. |

Yep,
Penny does like to market her goods! Put her messages in spam, then use your spam control to block her messages. Just put her name or what ever the e-mail title is in the block message section and click on save. That has stopped many un-wanted messages in my in box. Doris1334 |
Ditto, ditto, ditto..there you have it!
I mark unwanted messages as spam, and after awhile they quit sending them.
I found the same thing. I had no trouble unsubscribing at all and I'm glad I did. I love this board and the great information it gives. I rather watch Eleanor Burns.
To block emails: First left click on the email to select it, next right click, selecting the junk mail option. Last block sender.
I have read and agree with several comment. This board of wonderful sharing quilters is really the place where you learn, get ideas and inspiration. What a wonderful sharing group this is.
Thanks for the warning - I try to stay far away from companies that operate like this.
Spam the email and they will be blocked

Thanks in advance for the info. Mary Ann |
You are lucky that you only get e-mails. I bought something from her and she kept on sending me cd's which I did not
ask for. Also she charged my creditcard monthly for those cd's. Never never get involved with her!!!!!!! |

Then a new wave of emails came from other websites that are tied to her website started coming, too. I can’t remember the names of the sites, but they were rather numerous.
Some days I would get three and four messages from her and her posse. It started filling up my mail box because I didn’t have time to read them all. Sometimes the mail would have good tips and others would sound like she was going to give good tips but you would find out half way through her lengthy letter that she was selling the tips and instructions. Finally, I unsubscribed to her emails. At first I heard nothing from her, then one day an email popped up from her and then another and another. I unsubscribed again and the same thing would happen a few months later. I tried calling them to ask them to take me off their list, but they ask you to leave a message, then you find out that their mailbox is too full to take a message. I’ve tried several different times and the voice mail box is always full. This will make the fourth time I have unsubscribed to her website. Has anyone else had this problem? Did you get it resolved? If so, please let me know how you did it. AND if you haven’t signed up for her website, please let this be a warning to all… Thanks for your help and listening to me vent. Mary Ann |
Penny's site is where I started my "lessons" and I have purchased a few items from her. Then, I found this site and have learned so much here ... at no cost. I still receive her emails and have participated in a couple of her Webinars but I've stopped opening most of her email ... and the email from her cat, Jackson !!
I too have Microsoft Outlook In the message rules you can click on Block sender. I usually click on that to get rid of unwanted emails. Whenever I order anything online or if they want my email addy, I use my Yahoo addy. You can mark it spam then it will go to a folder for Spam
I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels this way. In the beginning, there were good FREE tips, but now I just hit the delete button, haven't unsubscribed yet,but I will. I hope I can happily unsubscribe, but won't hold my breath after what you just said. Thanks for the info, I thought it was only me. Happy quilting, without Peggy.

She is a phoney and sends endless emails hocking her worthless wares. After being sent so many emails I finally unsubscribed her and sent her stuff to SPAM.
I am so glad to hear I am not the only one that had a problem with Penny! It started out so innocently when I checked out her "free" block site. Have unsubscribed to everything Penny!
I had the same experience with getting too many emails and sales pitches but unsubscribing worked for me.

Thanks I've deleted her website to I can't believe they just get you in there and send crap to you and if you want one of the blocks you have to pay for it when the same blocks somewhere else is free...Wish we could all send emails back and fill her email box with junk......
On my outlook express I am able to "block" those email addresses I don't want. I blocked her and the emails go into the "trash" which I empty at least once a day. Then I don't even have to look at any of the junk mail.
Oh, good grief! Thanks for the warning. I unsubscribe from stuff frequently ... once I conclude there is never going to be a time when I want to read their e-mails or buy their products. So far, I've not had a problem, although I get strange SPAM daily, which I never open, so I can't stop it.
I am also really frustrated with her. I also get all her messages. All she is in it for is the $. Even her free patterns aren't up to snuff.
Good luck deleting her from your e-mail. |
I get her emails daily and only one a day. She has great tips and many times she has free webinars that are loaded with lots of information. Yes sometimes there are advertisements for her dvd's included but they are in with her regular daily emails. Email her directly and tell her you are getting all these emails, her address is:
[email protected] Judy in Michigan |
I am so glad someone finally spoke out about Penny. Her e mails sound like she is offering you free things, but you have to keep reading and reading only to find out at the end of the message that she is charging for the information, her prices are outrageous especially when you can get the same information free on UTube I unsubscribed in a hurry when I figured her out
I feel the same way, it seems she is always selling something.
I do the same. I still get Penny Halgrens emails, but I set up a rule in MS Outlook so they all are directed into a folder reserved just for her emails. That way I can look at them if I want or ignore them. She sometimes does have good tips and she certainly makes a lot of DVDs for purchase.
lol same here...can't seem to stop the emails...so I blocked her, was the only thing I could finally do...sometimes some of the emails slip through...
Thanks for the warning.

BLOCKING EMAILS FROM YOUR INBOX
For those of you using Yahoo emails: 1. Find your 'email options'. Mine is in the upper left corner with my profile picture. 2. Click on 'mail options', then 'spam'. 3. From there all you have to do is type in the address of anyone you wanted blocked from your email inbox. Click 'Add' for each address. 4. Click 'Save Changes' found just above the word 'Spam'. I was very specific for the non-techies. I also get her emails. I can usually tell her 'sales' emails by looking at my scroll bar. If it's at the top of the page and looks like it's gonna take forever to get to the bottom, I delete it. I also made a folder for her emails. When checking my inbox, if I see one of her emails, I automatically send it to the folder and read it later. Don't like the ads, but she does have some good info, tips, and advice when you can get passed the selling. |
