Last week my local Ben Franklin procured 11 new bolts of red work fabric and I her cut 1 yard of each color for me - didn't even think about which I might like the best- today I went to pick it up - 2 dollars a yard off sale, plus all my dutifully saved coupons 11 glorious yards of fabric for 3.98! I think I even know what I am going to do with it.

That's quite a landslide! Smart shopping and saving. Perfect colors for February projects.

Look on line for the coupons, ours also has a hand written every 25 yards you get 10 off, and a punch card - every 300 in purchases 25.00 free. I save those for long periods of time until I must have something.

Knowing what to do with a fabric is not a requirement for purchase in my book. Many times when the person cutting asks what I'm making, I just smile and say "a pile". It works for me.

I didn't really choose in the sense of thoughtful selection, I just happened to be in picking up fabric for the star quilts I was working on and she had just gotten in this order and I thought wow I MUST HAVE ALL OF THEM - and wouldn't they make a great sample quilt or something, an ordinary quilt. I have never in my entire quilting life made an ordinary quilt just because I wanted to. I think I did one once for a customers under duress.

Ah I ran out of coupons and accumulated credit thing a ma jogs or I would have, but not these colors - I have other projects which I really meant to get fabric to finish but this was toooooooo tempting and it won!
