I think it looks spectacular and the 2 drinks would look great, maybe better if you were drinking them.

The best advice I got on a landscape quilt I was working on was to add something personal. I put a hat on a table, and a purse hanging on a chair back, and it gave the entire quilt a whole new focus. A couple of drinks might do that, or something else, small, that just makes it a part of you. But it's great as it is, too! I love it; I love the way you've done the sky and the water. Did you piece or applique them?

Carol, They are appliqued with fusible.

I can't wait to see your finished product. |
I think you have it correct. Makes me want to go there. One way to separate the tree from the railings would be with your quilting. If you used a darker shade of brown and quilt in semi circles to give it the illusion of roundness, it would set it look apart from the railings. Please post a picture when it is finished (will the drinks have the little umbrellas???)LOL.

Love it! I wouldn't change a thing.

Wonderful quilt! It's been fun reading comments and suggestions, and I look forward to seeing your final interpretation of your vacation memory quilt! Especially the drinks! Thanks for starting such a delightful thread!

You did a wonderful job...I would transfer the picture on fabric and use it as your quilt label.

Quilting Nurse, That is a great idea.

Its beautiful! However I would use a different fabric for the railing and the tree, would help to differentiate them better.
Well done! I love how you've used scraps for the waves. Sharon in Texas |
