Hi all, I have a question for the wiser folks out there. You know who you are...;)
I have an opportunity to purchase a PFAFF Quilt Expression 2044 for $375.00 . I looked around a little and saw that it is about a 4 plus year old machine, also that it origionaly sold for aprox. $1,300.00 to $1,500.00. The ad says that it hasn't been used much and that they would ask for more but that they are moving to Hawaii at the end of the month. Hmmmm, makes me wonder but I can always ask for the BOS. My only other working machine is my FW and I would like something higher up on the sewing chain. I have always liked the look of PFAFF's and the possibility of more than just the straight stich of my FW is making this machine look good to me. Please let me know what you think and if a 4+ year old machine is worth this price or is it "too good to be true"? Thanks, Faith :XD: |
That is an excellent price for that machine. A comparative Janome 4 years old is going for $1100.00 on Ebay. It had 31 bids on it. I would grab it.

Jump on that!! My first Pfaff was a used one I bought15 years ago and I am still using it. The IDT (duel feed) is a wonderful feature of this machine as well as the embroidery stitches. My second Pfaff is a 2144 and I have all the upgrades. The only thing I have ever done with either of my Pfaff's is a regular cleaning and oiling for the 7550. The 2144 does not require oiling. They are the best machines I have ever worked with. I think the Pfaff is worth the price. If youare questioning it, ask if you can take it to a dealer to have it checked out before you buy. My Pfaff machines were a great investment.

That is an excellent price. Go grab it before someone else does ;-)

I think that price is very good. I bought a used 2042 Quilt Expression in June for $399 and love it. My sister has an older top of the line model Pfaff that she got second hand years ago and she loves it. I just finished quilting two quilts on it. It's a work horse.

If it has the features you need, I think it's a good deal. You will like the IDT and the older Pfaffs run so smooth. I believe that this model only has a single stitch back button but that is not a must have in my book.

I've had a Phaff 2054 for 4 yrs.
I've never had to bring in for service other than yearly. I love it. |
Get it, girl! Especially for the IDT (built in walking foot)! And the wider throat? I love Pfaffs!
