I have the 4.0. My dealer has been OK and has replaced several parts on it so it now runs enough to work but don't love it. Spent the weekend at the cabin and used my old pfaff and realized just how lousy my 4.0 runs. If it didn't cost me so much money I would get a different machine, but now am stuck with this one for now. Does run but not well.

Interesting to read about these Pfaffs. I did not know the company had been sold. That explains a lot. I have a 7550 and have not been able to find a quality dealer less than 3 hours away. The main Pfaff office does not return emails or phone calls nor does the website offer any information about this model machine. And, it cost a bundle and wasn't all that long ago. I have always loved Pfaffs because they were made in Germany, of metal parts and held up so very long. But, what good is a 25 year warranty if you can't find someone to do the work?
We are working through my problems now and hoping to make a trip to the far away dealer on Wednesday. Good luck with yours and let us know how it all comes out! |
I love my 2020 because of the IDT. You can really ease in extra width.

I have the Pfaff qe 4 and wish I didn't. I am trying to sell it and go back to Janome. I can't put my finger on "why " I don't like it, it is running fine - no problems - bit it is NOT a Janome --- why oh why did I buy it !!

I love my Expression 4.............no problems so far, but it took me a lot of time to learn how to use all the bells and whistles. I've always used Singers, but the new ones are certainly very distant relatives of the "good old girls".

I have a Pfaff Creative 4.0 and just love it. I would never buy a different machine. One thing I have found is that you have to really learn how to use the machine. Most problems I have had are opperator error. Don't fight the machine. Learn how to do things the way the machine wants. I did extensive research on this machine before I bought it and most of the complaints were because they were fighting the machine. I had to retrain myself to do some thing a new way, but now it is habit and my machine is the best I have ever owned. I hope that this makes sense to you.

I have several Pfaff's and love them all. Don't give up. If you trust your dealer, have a heart to heart talk and figure out what you should do.

I have a 1471 that I love. Hate to hear new Pfaffs may not be as good.

maybe you should check with more locally situated dealers. Many of the oldies have been sold, and the newer models are not as good as the older ones. I recommend Janome machines for quality.

I have a Pfaff 1222, a 1222E, a 2054, and a 2056. I have loved all my Pfaffs but like the 2056 the best. There is not much difference in the 2054 and the 2056, just a few more bells. Have been considering upgrading but have heard bad reviews on the newer models. Probably will check out the Babylock if I change.
