I love both. However, I hand quilt so it takes me a really long time to finish one. Therefore, I have a stack of unfinished tops waiting for me. I get bored with the quilting so I go make another top. I'll never catch up. Someone said they did't like the binding process. I don't mind it at all. I know when I get there I am almost finished.

I love both but the part I really hate is layering them. I do quilt on my regular sewing machine (Bernina 180) any size. Sometimes, like now, I am so overwhelmed with the number of quilts that are ready to be quilted that I just have to quilt a few of them.

I love to cut out the fabric and piece. I don't like the quilting part. That's why I have so many UFOs!

Nope same issue here. I wonder if I get a quilting machine it would be better. You do not want to know how many beautiful quilts and projects are laying around in my quilting studio stuck at the quilting part. Most are already basted.

Oh yeah, that's me. LOVE to start a new project - once the top is finished I lose interest....

I love it from start to finish....however, I get a little tired of piecing the blocks before I get finished with them....especially if it is a large quilt. But, I don't do many large quilts. I DON'T like doing the backings, but I am not a procrastinator....so I get with it. Now that I have my HQ quilting machine, I am even more into "gettiing it quilted".....makes a huge difference. I am probably an odd-ball here, but I LOVE to do the binding....especially sitting down with it and doing the handwork on the back side. But, then I love handwork.

My sister inlaw said it best. She said the piecing part is terrific because you are creating something, the colors are pretty, you get to see your quilt top coming together, etc.....This part is a joy to do.
Then it's time to put the quilt together and that is WORK plain and simple. |
Piecing. I dont actually quilt anything.

I aspire to be a finisher -- SOMEDAY!

I loved all aspects of making a quilt - except the actual quilting part. Had almost 50 quilt tops when I decided to get a MegaQuilter & Next Generation frame. Had that setup for 1 1/2 years before actually trying it, then found I had no talent for it. Bought QBOT, quilted small charity quilt and took off! All 50 of those quilt tops were done in less than 3 months! I never have a backlog now. A story with a happy ending!
