I often make pillow cases, they don't really have to match, but they look good on the bed, besides, pillow cases are a great way to present a quilt gift to someone, and it encourages the recipient to store thir gift safely

The quilt I made for my bed has matching pillow cases and curtains.

i always make pillow case and put my finished top backing and binding in it to store together until quilted

Sometimes a pillow case but not always, if it's a bed quilt then yes, lap quilts rarely.

Yes. I think it adds so much for the effect on the room.

I do it all the time. It's great to have matching pillowcases but I also use one as the gift bag whan I give a quilt away (I refuse to waste money on wrapping paper). The other great thing about a matching pillowcase is when you store them, you can see immediately what quilt is on the shelf just be glancing at the pillowcase because I use the matching pillowcase as the storage bag for my quilt. No dumping out cloth bags just to see what quilt is in there. Matching pillowcases also mean that you have material to patch your quilt if a repair is ever necessary.

I like to make matching pillowcases. They are quick and easy and give the quilt that finished look. I have made shams- to time consumming.

I do, I like it when they all match up.

Well I posted a picture of my Christmas yo yo quilt and made it long enough to fold and tuck under the pillows. Got me to thinking- why don't I cut a few rows off and make pillow shams. So that's what I did, haven't got them sewn yet but I will before I put the quilt away for another year.
