Okay---here are all the names so far for the pillowcases
Hot Dog, Sausage, Burrito, Tube, Roll-Up and Magic!! I think that is the wildest thing for the pillowcases to have so many different names. Any new names to add to the list???

I have made a few of these pillowcases and have found that instead of rolling the body, I fan-fold it. When it is fan-folded, it pulls out so much easier...no tugging. Try it and let me know what you think. (Can I get a patent on this?) :-)

Whatever you want to call it, it is a great and easy way to make pillow cases. I have made several, and helped my 83 year old aunt make them too...

All of your pillowcases are darling!!! I've decided I might make a pillowcase with each quilt I make starting with the one I'm making now. We usually have plenty of leftovers when we finish a quilt even if we have to make a very small pillow just for one's head on the recliner!!

These are some of the pillowcases I have made using the hotdog/roll-up method. They're so much fun to make and are so quick to do.

I LOVE THIS PATTERN. Makes up so easy, Looks so tailored. I've started making a pair to match all my quilts.

This is the one that I always rewatch when I go to make another one. Made travel size pillowcases with my grandchildren yesterday. Turned out so cute.

The children are sleeping and I can't get in their room tonight, but the main body was 17 inches in length and 27 inches wide. I will have to measure what size that I made the cuff tomorrow. The little trim piece was 2 inches wide before being folded in half. The little pillows were kind of plump. I can't remember where I picked them up. Seems like one of the big pharmacies. I will reply again or pm you tomorrow.

Maureen 07-07-2011 06:48 PM

Thank you so much. I bought a couple in Walgreens for a very reasonable price and they are plump too.

Ok, I made the first one with a 1 1/2" trim piece before being folded. The cuff can be about 6" wide before folding. The main body mentioned above is a good size. I made one with the 2 inch trim piece, but the one that I did a little smaller probably looks best. PM me if anything is not clear. I still like the tutorial on Missouri Quilt Co.

I found some cute dog fabric on clearance in Wal-Mart so I am going to do some for my daughter's family room. The kids will love them, thanks again.

Thanks for the link for the Sausage Pillowcase video. It's great!

carolaug 07-09-2011 01:32 AM

I agree....I never even thought of cutting the edges...I will do that for my next one. it will really help as I find with out trimming the french seam is too thick.
