Ditto on suggestions on removing the pin. I wouldn't stitch down the folded border, it's suppose to add some 3D to your quilt.

I also would not stitch down the folded border as it will then look just like a strip sewn in. Let it flap!

Ha! this just happened to me. I gave it back to my long-armer and she re-did it for me.. Thank god I found it, the pin was in a baby quilt for my baby nephew! Yikes!

I have also faced this problem Somehow I was able to bring it out. So youm are not alone. Cheer up!! :D :D

This very thing happened to me last weekend! Somehow I quilted right over the pin (one of those 2" flower head pins) without breaking the quilting machine needle. I found the pin the hard way when sewing the binding on. Ow!
Luckily I'd quilted the quilt in long wavy rows and with some finagling, was able to work the pin to the edge of the quilt without having to rip any stitches. It took some "doing", though! What a nifty idea of breaking the pin head with a hammer. I wouldn't have thought of that! :mrgreen: |
