I love both of those combos.

I see a lot of this combo in Baby items...so I dont think it is outdated.

Unless your thinking of selling quilts, I use whatever colors I want to use. I personally, do not care if a color is IN or OUT. If I like it, I use it. Of course sometimes I have to dye the color I want because its no longer mass produced, but I figure its my quilt and I will make it in whatever combinations I choose.

here in Ohio JoAnns has tons of blue and brown fabrics. In the same piece that is. Tons. You can get blue background with brown designs..or visa versa

My new ggranddaughter's Mother has asked for Pink chocolate Brown and lime green. Her bed is in these colors in a pasily print

I like them. I just made 3 baby quilts for my nieces in their early twenties. One asked for brown & pink, the other had twin girls and asked for brown & pastels and sage & pastels. They all turned out very pretty.

If you like those colors it doesn't matter if they're popular or not. I love them and think anything made out of those colors would be beautiful!

I've never liked them either

Today I went to a quilt shop in the Houston area and bought a pattern for a pink and brown quilt. They had it displayed in the shop. Beautiful. When I checked out the lady told me that it was the most popular quilt pattern they had.

I still see baby things in brown and pink. Baby clothes and baby diaper bags. So for young people who have babies it is still popular. As stated before, if you make it for someone who likes the colors, that is great!

A couple of years ago, I made a baby quilt for a friend's granddaughter. Her mother chose pink and brown, and I didn't know it was THE color combination, but I made it and it really turned out beautiful. I didn't have any trouble finding coordinates in those colors.

Me too. I don't understand the idea of making a quilt because it's popular. I make them because I like it--if it happens to be popular--great, if not, so what? I'm not sure I understand the appeal of doing "what's popular" when it comes to quilting.

In general...I do get tired of seeing the "trendy" colors (in fabrics and in home decorating styles) that soon will be out of style. I like classics, though--and try not to decorate even my own house with things that will be "so trendy" that in 2 or 3, or 5 years will be "out".

I know blue and brown was really big last year. Personally I'm ready for something new this year.
