Measure the pinked square as you state. That will tell you how to treat the pink, point or v. I would not know without having the actual piece as manufacturers may cut and measure differently.

For me, it depends on how deep the pinking is. Some of the pre-cuts have just the hint of a pinking effect. Some are very deep.
