If you are making a truly scrappy quilt, is is o.k. to put some batik scraps in the mix. I don't have a lot of batik scraps but would like to use up the ones I do have.

Please don't say you are not good at sewing, you did a great job on this one. Love this block, it has lots of movement. Love the colours too. thanks for sharing.

I'll jump on this one. I need to have a baby quilt finished just about the time this ends and was wondering how to do it with all my "regular" quilting to get done too. A block a day, even hand sewing, doesn't seem too hard to fit in. Pinwheels - quick and easy and possibly of the 3D type mentioned for a tactile stimulant for baby. Good luck to all!

Well, going to have to scrap all the pinwheels I have done..The fabric that I bought is not working and come to find out its either poly or nylon material instead of the 100 percent cotton broadcloth..Starting back from scratch, have lots to catch up on lol..

Well, all 42 are sewed, now squaring them up and sewing the rows together. One row is together. As I am squaring up I am finding some of the centers not meeting good enough; so I am taking out the center stitching and rematching it. The squaring up and resewing takes all the time we saved on the sewing the squares together.

Glad to have you join us! Yes, they do go quick and you get better as you go along.

That's a shame! The only broadcloth I have seen is poly/cotton. You could use it if you wanted. Make a couple a day until you are caught up if you do start over.

These are so quick it's almost easier to toss instead of taking them apart and resewing!

Did you try that last tutorial about butting up the blocks while you continue to sew that row? Kind of neat and seems to be working for matching points in the center.
