oooo I like the on point blocks, i think i may do this with another border around the outside edge very pretty!!!

I just saw a braid border that was really neat, but can't remember the name of the thread where I saw it.

I will work on the measurements for the setting triangles and corner triangles.
I usually add one inner border and an outside border at the least. I also like to add blocks to the corners of the borders.

I am really partial to blocks set on point also, although I hate that figuring out setting triangles. I know there is a simple method of figuring the size, but I can never remember what it is and if I try just cutting triangles that are a little larger than I think they should be, I end up with waves and I hate that.

Remember that the setting triangles on the side of your quilt is actually a square cut on both diagonals, while the triangles in the corners are actually a square cut on one diagonal.
In this manner, you keep the bias edges sewn to the inside straight blocks, while the outside of the triangle is actually on the straight of grain.
If you measure one side of your block and add 1.5", you should have enough to cut on both diagonals for your setting (side) triangles.
If you measure one side of your block and add 7/8" or an even inch, cut on one diagonal -- you should end up with a corner triangle that is more than ample for your quilt. <wave>

I just got my third block cut out- oh my goodness- it took forever- I just pulled scraps out so I can't use the directions it gives as far as cutting them in rows first. I have to look and see what size the individual blocks are and hope i have enough in that color lol
