Well .... <scuffing toe in ground> sort of <G> if I go to sleep right now or a few minutes, I will wake up at four am, and I spent the day getting the sewing area straightened out a bit. I should be able to get everything pulled and cut before I have to go out to feed, or the all day sewin, or at least in the evening after night feeding ... I WILL be ready! even hubby has been forewarned that I am being accountable ... I am building this quilt for Operation 1161, so I could even cut the fabric during the all day sew in, but we shall see <g> ...

omak 07-10-2009 10:06 PM

Cutie! You MAY have created a monster! LOL
catch you later <wave>
thank all of you for your encouragement and patience.

cutebuns 07-10-2009 10:08 PM

cutebuns 07-10-2009 10:09 PM

Have a good sleep

omak 07-10-2009 10:09 PM

I found enough different purples, some have some other color in them of course, here is what I found, I am hoping I have it divided right. I have some pressing and cutting to do I think.

This is my dark pile I hope I have enough different ones to make it work

This is my calm,

crkathleen 07-11-2009 01:40 PM

Thanks Omak. I've always had trouble putting pictures in my messages because they came from my phone. Now I can open them with paint and resave them as any type of file . Hopefully I will finish my quilt soon and practice that!
Thanks again!

Oooh, Cutebuns, I love those purples!!!

I don't know how I've ended up with such ugly fabric in my stash but maybe when it gets put together it won't be so bad. I'm going to have to make a LOT more scrappy quilts to get rid of this stuff.

Here's my fabric.

The house is clean, the fabric is cut, it will be early to bed tonight so I can get up in time to start with the instructions.

Probably a black border - that's not cut yet.

cutebuns 07-11-2009 03:07 PM

I don't think that fabric is ugly at all, I think it will trun out better than mine. we will have to see what comes of the mystery tomorrow. I had the crazy thought while pressing, I thought it would be cool to see if I could do two at the same time tomorrow, hmmm, nope, not even going to try though the thought is there, maybe if I had help pressing etc, and a typist so that I can chat at the same time, maybe a photgrapher so I can share what I am doing, and wouldn't you know it, DD#1 is gone, and she woul dhave been the best help.

Maribeth 07-11-2009 07:48 PM

I can't wait to see all your progress, love the fabrics you have all chosen. If you have the time please post your progress occasionally. I completely forgot about this being tomorrow, and I was so excited when I got the email and started this thread. I will have to print it out and put it aside for later. The good thing is I have so much to do I will probably forget and when I get around to it, it will be a mystery again. I am still so preoccupied with the memorial quilt I am trying to make for a co-worker (when I am not laying in bed sick). I don't remember the last time I felt this bad for such a long period of time. I have a few coworkers who said that when they were out sick their doctor told them they had the H1N1 virus, but not sure if they really know.

cutebuns 07-11-2009 08:07 PM

I hope you feel better soon, that it is all gone and nothing is lingering. I will be trying to post all along the way tomorrow, I have the camera standing by, I hope that others are going to be doing the same, I almost have my pieces cut out, there are always distractions and today was a good one for them. So I am pecking away at it. I am so excited, I can't wait to see what comes out of it.

Angie 07-11-2009 08:44 PM

cutebuns, I hope you get all your cutting done!

b.zan, I think your color choices are good ones!

Maribeth, I hope you feel better soon!

I will try to post as we go, if I am able to keep up!

Can't wait to get started.

I have everything ready, now I just need to tidy up the sewing room, so I won't be distracted by my other projects and have everything I need where it is supposed to be!

So I am done cutting out, they say to mark some of them so I will be sitting at the table, it is getting late so I best get on it. Here is what I have.

Angie 07-11-2009 08:47 PM

Oh, I was not a happy camper with my 9" blocks, I was one block short, but had one 7 1/2" and so I added a strip and trimmed it to make a 9" block! Now I have enough!

Angie 07-11-2009 08:48 PM

cutebuns, the markings not so bad. Put on a good show to watch as you do it. That's what I did and I just finished mine about ten minutes ago.

cutebuns 07-11-2009 08:56 PM

I have never marked befor, I do hst all the time and I cut mine and then sew, I am not sure what or how they are putting these together so I will have to. It looks like we will be sewing it in two places and then cutting them apart, but I could be wrong. they could be folding them or something else like that as well. Will have to wait and see I guess.

Here's a pic of my stuff!

cutebuns 07-11-2009 09:52 PM

I love those colors, I kind of wonder if I shouldn't have picked other colors.........

cutebuns 07-11-2009 10:00 PM

I am finished marking, I need to clean up some and wind a few bobbins to make sure that I have enough. I have everything else I need I believe. I have to toss a few things off of the table etc and make sure that I have room to move and work.

omak 07-11-2009 10:01 PM

You are all probably already in bed!
I got my red color family squares cut, and now I am working on my darks.
I managed to finish a quilt today at the sew in, and buy more fabric, of course! <g>
I am reading through these instructions on cutting and am beginning to think I may have grabbed the wrong things, but I will "endeavor to persevere."
I am going to hit the rack so I can get up early tomorrow and start this all over again!
My DD is even making breakfast for us so we won't have to leave the ranch to go into town for sausage and eggs at the Post! ... this ought to be real interesting <g>.
Catch in the am <wave>

Angie 07-11-2009 10:04 PM

You colors look GREAT! I think it will be awesome! I've cleaned up and have everthing in order. BUT, thanks to you, I'm going to wind some bobbins! Thanks!

cutebuns 07-11-2009 10:07 PM

Not in bed yet, but I should be, I haven't gone yet, have some more reading and writing as well. things just snowball with me.

YW Angie, I am sure that I am missing something else.

I am thinking that someone should come and help me clean before we start, you would not believe the mess. oppps, part of it was becasue I was playing, I wonder if I can find someone to cook me breakfast?

omak 07-11-2009 10:16 PM

By the way ... did you notice the difference in marking those hsts?

omak 07-11-2009 10:17 PM

they aren't marked as usual.
The center line is drawn, and THEN ... move 1/2" on one side OR the other of the center line .... quite different from just a hst, yes?

cutebuns 07-11-2009 10:18 PM

Yes, it is different, I am thinking that we are getting more than one thing out of it, we sew it twice to something and we get a big piece and then a smaller square. I am only guessing though

omak 07-11-2009 10:19 PM

I would post my pictures, but you wouldn't believe what I would have to do to accomplish that small task!
the cell phone doesn't work when we are at the ranch . It is only a cell phone when I am in town. But, the cell phone WILL take a picture out at the ranch.
I may break down and stroll around the ranch to see if I can get a signal, but I won't do that until I have it ALL cut out!

omak 07-11-2009 10:20 PM

well, I saw a quilt on the wall at the quilt shop today ... and, looking at what they are telling me to do next, makes me wonder!

omak 07-11-2009 10:21 PM

how are we going to keep track of all of us each others?
are you going to run two chat screens, or just the one?

omak 07-11-2009 10:22 PM

I will catch up to you all in the am ... nighty, night! <wave>

cutebuns 07-11-2009 10:23 PM

I am thinking of running both chats, I might have to use both of my computers. I will have to see how fast I am at piecing as well, I want to post pictures as I am going along, I might have to enlist some help from DD or DS, We will be going going going tomorrow, I am so curious to see what we will end up with.

Angie 07-11-2009 10:26 PM

night omak! I'm thinking that the hst are going to have the two outsides the same and whatever in the middle different? Does that make sense this late?

Angie 07-11-2009 10:28 PM

You know that's not a bad idea. I have my laptop I could run one and the other on my computer. I'll start out that way and see if I can handle quilting...... and two computers....... along with any other thing that comes my way!

wvdek 07-11-2009 10:29 PM

I've seen some bulls in my day, but he is HUGE. How much does he weigh?

cutebuns 07-11-2009 10:31 PM

Sometime the chat here blinks on and off if I switch screens to often, so if I run both then I should be okay, as long as I remember which keyboard and mouse goes to which, I sometimes get them mixed up when I am messing around like that.

Angie 07-11-2009 10:32 PM

I think I'm going to set mine up side by side tonight so I'll be ready!

cutebuns 07-11-2009 10:34 PM

I am on my way to bed, I have had late nights most of the week and things are just so hectic that I need a few hours before doing this, I hope that i come through okay on it, Kind of nervous as I have never even taken a class. Should be interesting. night all that are still up and running around.

Angie 07-11-2009 10:36 PM

Me too. This has been a rough week here too! Sleep sounds good! See you tomorrow.
