I use deli-sheets, like waxed paper only not as much wax, for foundation piecing, works great and tears off easily. No scents in it either.

From a former asthmatic, thank you for spreading this advice.
I used to choke up sleeping on outside clothesline dried sheets (that collected pollen). It took me years to figure out this asthma trigger when I went to bed at night. |
What do you use for static control if not dryer sheets. I did not realize that this was or could be the cause of some of our problems. I appreciate your answer.

Also I have heard that the dryer sheets burn pretty easy. I don't even want to think of what could happen in a house fire....I usually use muslin or really ugly fabric...

Use thin, tread-bare, worn-out sheets that aren't good for anything else.

Got a question, What should it matter if you just use it to make a foundation for string quilts if your cutting it out before you put it together?
