Looks like one of those new fangled modern quilts.....I like it....It is interesting and probably no one in the world but you would think it was suppose to be any other way. Love the colors!!!

I had a thought. It's sort of a compilation of what everyone is suggesting. Since I created this pattern, I can change it at will. I'm thinking of using my rotary cutter and simply cutting off the 1/4" seam between my blocks and the sashing (on my picture that would be top to bottom). Then I'll re-sew the seams and really off set my rows so it looks much more deliberate. In the end my sashing will be reduced by 1/2" but who cares? Maybe that's how it really wanted it? No one but you guys will ever know!
I can add a new beige border top and bottom then continue with the dark blue one as planned. (Did I explain this well?) I want to try and salvage this and maybe even still give it as a Christmas gift because I also love the colors and chose them specifically for this person. |

Here it is, a quilt top with truly off-set blocks! I'm very pleased. Thank you for all who helped. You really gave me the motivation and inspiration to fix this properly. It was pretty easy too. Now to put the dark blue border around it.

I would go with your suggestion. Cut it down into squares and reassemble it however you care to, mixing the colors and the directions of the fabric so it looks random, yet planned. The difference in the width of the squares will not be noticeable at all then. However, from what I can see, there is not that much "reverse sewing" that needs to be done to "fix it." Whatever you decide to do, whoever gets it will love it because it's your first quilt.

This would be a great quilt to try out Applique. I love the Flower idea.

I've never done applique. Would you mind explaining why this quilt in particular would be great for it? This is something I need to learn more about. Thanks.
