My first "real" quilt was a KING size log cabin. I took one day to tear the strips and the next day I did in fact complete the quilt . So I have to disagree when some say you can not make it in a day, I was dealing with a toddler ,a new machine and hadn't sewn for years. I seen her on TV and was hooked on how easy she made it look. Well that was about 25 years or so ago and I still have that logcabin book and still use it. I would recomend her ;)

Once you have done a few quilts the Burns' way, you can attempt other patterns with more confidence. Strip piecing and her step by step instructions help the beginner to keep at it. That was my experience after doing her Card trick quilt.

elenor burns teaches strip piecing- she is the owner of
"QUILT IN A DAY" store, website; many many books/patterns out using her speedy-strip piecing techniques.

her techniques are what got 99% of the people on this forum HOOKED on quilting in the first place!

If you go to Eleanor Burns store in Paducah you can buy little ziploc bags with her "thrown over the shoulder" scraps! About $5 I think.
