I'd suggest you make more of the 40" ones simply because it's better to have a runner spill over the edge than to have it look skimpy on the table. If I were buying for a gift and wasn't sure of the table size, I'd buy the longer one just to be safe. |
My table is 17'. Seats 20. So I usually make mine 6 yards or so. OK, I know this is not what you are asking ;-) I would probably go with the 40" one for the kitchen table.

I would go for a 40 or even 60 inch. I keep the leaves in the dining room table and it is long....
I have a long table so I would use a 40", but the shorter ones could work for buffets, end tables, or coffee tables.
I would want the 40"
I would buy the 40 due to the size of my table
If buying, it would be 40 for me. But, my experience at craft shows is people tend to buy the smaller/cheaper items. By the way, those are worth every penny you charge.
I vote for the 40 inch. That is because I have a long dining table.

So--please let me know if you saw a gorgeous runner done in floral bargello   would you buy a 20" or 40". I'll make more of whatever the results are. Thanks! |

When I've made my own table runners (not bargellos, just different runners) for my dining room table for me to get the overhang that I like the length is 64" |
