I agree

I think the 20" size would work as a placemat also. I'll take a set!

Alexisj 08-07-2011 08:49 PM

I would buy the 40"

I agree that $60 is high for a table runner. I know that there's a lot of work in bargello. Why don't you make a faster pattern and charge less?

Thank-you. :-D

Because then it wouldn't be unique. ;)

edit: you could take orders for shorter ones if you like for more than half the cost of half the length. have a nice sign for that, but don't show them.

edit edit: i think the mats will surprise you.

No orders... no time. I have so many things I want to make, I just want to sell those. Or the joy would be gone. I don't sell for the money, I sell because I don't want to stop quilting. I think my stuff is at a fair price. Whatever doesn't sell will make great gifts. It makes me crazy to try to meet someone's requests, esp about color.

THIS with bells on!!! :-D :-D :-D

If you're making toppers, I'd just make the longer ones. Unless you wanted to make both, but I guess not or you wouldn't be asking us which ones!  :D

I never got emails for these replies! I'm laying out another bargello now and was reviewing the replies in this post before deciding on length and found all these new ones!

Anyway--thanks k3n. Opinions on pricing sure differ. What I have must be okay because things are selling well before the stuff even makes it to the craft show. I'm only making 40" ones based on the results of this "poll". I'm almost done with eight floral log cabin toppers--for $30 or $35... so there will be smaller items there too.

These are made with great care--double bindings--hand sewn on... high quality IMHO.
;)

well, that is odd...is it YOUR pattern or a store bought?
Do you live in the same town as the person asking about the pattern?
Are you planning to sell on QB?

Not sure I understand why you would not want to share the name of a pattern

There is no name--I figured it all out. I made two bargellos from a pattern (shared all of that info!)--and used what I learned to create these. It just took some math. But, I do not enjoy writing out patterns/instructions. Time is limited; I need to sew. I have always shared patterns I've used that are not created by me.

Sheesh--I thought this was a simple question 20" or 40"?
