I use Polydown for my kid's quilts as it quilts, washes and wears well. I find 80/20 a rather heavy batt and your little guy might be too hot. Even Charismah on our board who is absolutely a wonderful quilter often uses Polydown as her batting of choice.

thank you so much for the info. i'm making a double sided quilt. so i know its going to be heavier already. so i will wash my flannel again. thanks for the tip. :D
