I love my embroidery machine but I also make things from old denim and just pretty thread and different stitches Pretty thread shows up so well on old denim I test a lot of stitches on a peice of denim before I decide what to use on a purse or vest and save the peices I can't seem to throw them away |
Thank you for the great advise. I usually use old jeans for quilting. Never thought about Potholders! Always get sauce or grease on my good potholders and have to throw them away. Thank you again for such a great idea! :P

Jeans...What a wonderful Idea!!!! I was going to donate a few today...think I will cut them up and make some potholders! thanks for the idea!!!

I use old jeans for potholders, quilts, lots of things. Yes, embroidery looks great on old denim and if you soil the potholder, dont worry about it-just throw it in the washer-don't have to worry about fading or shrinking. I never throw old jeans away and once your friends find out you use them you should have plenty.
I also use several layers of old t-shirts for the batting, its cotton so it conducts heat but thin enough to make them useable. |
