One of my favorite quilts was made with 3 charm packs and it was a d9p. Need to make more. I'll see if I can find a picture of it. Hope I took one.

I like to use jellyrolls and charms once in a while. Going to a retreat next week and I am going to do the jellyroll quilt which is one of Missouri Stars tutorials and a friend is going to make the disappearing 4 patch using a charm pack and is also a Missouri Star tutorial. Check them out. Sometimes it beats picking out fabric for a quilt, a little change up. When I buy a jellyroll I usually buy a yard or so of coordinating fabric to use as a border.

Beautiful quilt.
I love charm packs, buy 3 to make sure theres enough for a lap quilt. Sometimes buy some matching fabric for border and binding. Just did that with the Sentiments line.
Also buy them to see if I like the line of fabrics.
They give all of the line so they all go togather.

Sash lovely quilt, I need to look for a d9p pattern.

Have not seen any charms in 5 1/2", interesting. Haven't even noticed patterns for them unless I just assumed they were for regular charms.

EasyPeezy is right on the money. When it comes to pre-cuts it is best to have a plan. Otherwise your fabric may sit for a long time before it is used. Moda's fabrics are some of my very favorites, and their patterns are nice, too. Do check out the website EasyPeezy provided.

I don't think there's one pre-cut that's more useful than another. It all depends on
what pattern you will be using it for and how big your project will be. I suggest
choosing your pattern before buying pre-cuts. I don't know how many times I
bought jelly rolls then find I should have bought (let's say) 1 jelly roll and 1 layer
cake instead of 2 jelly rolls. They are not always interchangeable. So, choose
your pattern first then you can make a wiser decision on buying pre-cuts.
There are lots of free patterns at modabakeshop.com for pre-cuts.
I also like the books from Pam and Nicky Lintott. Check on Amazon.
I don't think I have a favorite pattern...too many to choose from. LOL

My favorites are charm packs. I enjoy making table toppers out of them because they are fast projects and I like playing with different color palettes/fabric lines with a relatively inexpensive investment. Here's one I finished this week using a pattern from the Anka's Treasures book "Charmed and Dangerous".

Sash, your quilt looks so pretty! And Simplelife, I really like your table topper! I need to do something like that. I love table toppers but I've never made the first one and that would be a great use for charm packs. Thanks!
