Prevent rulers from slipping during quilting?

Hi everyone. I’ve heard about Glue Dots that might work. I’m honestly considering taping these rulers to my quilts while I use them. 😳 Anyone have any tips to prevent ruler slippage? Not during cutting but during quilting. 😛

I find that double-backed tape (the thin kind) works great. You need to reapply it occasionally as it gets linty and doesn't stay put as well. It removes easily from the ruler, but you can just tape over the used tape too until you're done quilting.

I bought a roll of the 3M Shower Tread tape. It gives traction to the ruler, it's clear so you can see through it, and it's also easy to remove without leaving a residue. I use it on all my rulers now. https://www.amazon.com/Safety-Walk-S...gateway&sr=8-3

I use small strips of 220 or 400 sticky sandpaper on my rulers.

I believe Westalee sells a stable tape for rulers used for ruler work. I coat the back of mine with rubber cement and let it dry. It works well and can be refreshed as needed.

This stuff is the best. Your rulers will not go anywhere. If you need them to also slide, then don't use this. Also, for $15 you get enough to do every ruler you own or will ever buy in the next three years.

My rulers are lightly sprayed with basting spray, then rubbed a bit to make the sticky less sticky. That works for me. I think I have only had to re-spray one ruler after about 2 years.

It's clear when in place, so that you can still see through the ruler.
Kind of like the hook side of velcro.

I use clear skateboard grip tape from Amazon. It really sticks, though, so I usually put down a piece of tape on the ruler first, then the grip tape on that, so that it is removable. It almost turns the ruler into a "handle" to move the quilt.

I recently bought Odif Grippy https://www.walmart.com/ip/Odif-Grip...81oz/341082067
I put it on my DSM quilting ruler and it works great. It has the same feel as Quilters Select rulers, which I love.
