I just finished my very first quilt top. It's a Turning Twenty pattern.

Can anyone give me an estimate of how much it will cost to have it quilted (with just an all over longarm quilting design) and to have the binding done?

Prices will vary regionally. An all over pattern is usually less costly, and will vary too depending on the density of the quilting.

To save yourself some $, decide to do the binding. It's not that hard, and a nice way to finish it off by doing it yourself!

QuiltE is right. It also depends on the size of the quilt. Some charge by the sq foot other by the sq in.
Ours in town charges .015 per square in. So I'm working on a 110x110 so that's 12100 x .015= $181.50 to have it quilted. Hope that helps

Most LAer charge per square inch. Multiply your length times your width to get your square inches. They usually start a little over a penny per s/i depending of course on your area but you can also ship out if you find the prices in your area to high but then you have to figure shipping both to and from on top so you would most likely not realize any savings.

So say your quilt is 60 x 80. That is 4,800 square inches. At .015 per s/i that comes to $72.00

I charge a penny per square inch for an all-over meander, but I won't do the binding. It's very hard to find someone to do the binding too because it's so time-consuming.

I'm scared of the binding! LOL

If you can find someone with a computerized machine and charges 1.5, go for it. I get custom quilting done if the quilt is really special and may be used for competition. Otherwise I get edge to edge and get it done! Many long armers have a long waiting list. Depending on the Quilter, I often make the appointment before I even start the quilt. It can take months if they are really good.

I do binding for people - it's my favorite part of quilting. If people provide me the binding and it's sewn to the front of the quilt already, I hand stitch it to the back for 5 cents per inch. Or, if someone has the binding, I'll machine stitch it to the front and hand stitch to the back for 15 cents per inch.

'Im in Texas and this is what I charge for all over. .02. Batting is included in this price. All I need from customers is the quilt top and the prepared backing. I can do the binding, but it's not my preference. I generally charge a flat $25 to do the binding.
